Smart DNApp Description
DESCRIPTION
Mobile application for the identification of objects and/or animals of any type through the use of RFID tags with a frequency of 13.56 MHz (ISO 14443). The object is associated with the RFID tag via a web platform. With a mobile phone and the Smart DNapp app, in addition to identifying the object/animal, it is possible to obtain a detailed description. In case of loss, the app will report the discovery to the owner who could offer a reward for whoever reports its discovery. The tags can be purchased via the website https://dnapp.securdata.ch and can be associated independently.
RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) technology represents an advanced method for the automatic identification and storage of data relating to objects or animals. The heart of this technology lies in the ability to associate a unique ID of electronic labels, known as Tags or transponders, to a database that can be queried with any mobile phone where the Smart DNApp application is installed.
The application uses the tag ID to return the information of interest such as the manufacturer and model of the object (anti-counterfeiting), the descriptive information of the object (e.g. PPE with related expiry dates), or, in the event of loss of the object or animal, an anonymous link that allows you to contact the owner. The app has advanced functions dedicated to security workers. An airport's security team can view the data of the owner of a baggage or lost object, helping to improve the efficiency of services.
COMPONENTS
The solution is made up of three fundamental elements:
13.56 MHz RFID tag (ISO 14443): technology that makes every object and animal identifiable via a simple NFC phone. The tags are passive and do not emit magnetic waves. They only respond when questioned by the Smart DNApp application installed on the phone;
virtual association web platform: a web platform allows you to associate the objects and/or animals of interest in complete autonomy;
Smart DNapp mobile application: application that, with any phone, allows you to read the unique ID of the tags and obtain the associated information.
TAG and PRIVACY
Smart DNApp is designed to protect user privacy. Tags do not store personal data but only a unique ID. If a lost object or animal is found, the app does not provide the owner's data but an alert through which it is possible to put the owner in contact with the person who found the object or animal.
EXAMPLES OF USE
The application can be used by:
- manufacturers of bags, suitcases, clothing or valuable objects as a value-added service for their customers and a means of anti-counterfeiting
- manufacturers of protective equipment (PPE) and labor inspectors to monitor device expiry dates
- as a support for the Product Lifecycle Management of objects or to computerize the management of the product life cycle through automatic identification - construction companies to identify proprietary objects used on construction sites
- to identify objects and animals in order to find them in case of loss
- to have the history of the various owners of a specific valuable object
