Sunrise Studios Description
The Dorothy and Irving Ross SUNRISE STUDIOS is dedicated to bringing fun entertainment and activities to children, ages 3½–17, wherever they may be – at home, in the hospital or on the go. Kids of all ages will enjoy a wonderful library of family-friendly recorded and live content, including virtual summer camp activities, trips around the world and a collection of fun do-it-at-home projects, while parents can rest assured that all content is curated and age-appropriate.
“Sunrise Studios” is a program of the Sunrise Association, whose mission is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings world-wide, through the creation of Day Camps, Year-Round Programs and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, all offered free of charge.
Some of the great content you will find inside includes:
· Learn How to Make a Volcano
· Tour the National Parks
· Counselor Lip Sync Battle
· Camp Color War Competitions
· Entertaining movies
Providing memorable summers since 2006 for children ages 3½–17, Sunrise Association Day Camps bring the simple pleasures of childhood back to children struggling with cancer, turning months of loneliness and isolation into summers filled with sunshine, laughter and happiness. And because Sunrise camps are day camps, they do all this while allowing the children to continue treatment with the medical staff they know and trust, and then returning to the comfort and safety of their own homes at night. Our day camps in the US and Israel provide summer fun, as well as year-round programming that offers children exciting activities and events when school is not in session.
All year long, our Sunrise on Wheels programs provides hours of in-hospital fun to children undergoing treatment. Volunteers wheel a magical trunk overflowing with toys, games and art projects into the oncology units of participating hospitals, bringing hours of camp-like programing to what can otherwise be a frightening time. Parents are offered a bit of respite as our trained staff entertain their children during some of their most difficult moments.
