surat Al Waqiah Ar Rahman Description
Surah Al Waqiah is the 56th letter in the order of the Al-Qur'an Mushaf. According to a hadith, reading Surah Al Waqiah every night will avoid poverty.
The hadith is contained in the Al-Adzkar Book by Imam an-Nawawi. From Ibn Mas'ud RA, he said that Rasulullah SAW said,
"Whoever reads Surah Al Waqiah every night, surely he will not be struck by poverty." (Reported by Ibn Sinni)
Imam an-Nawawi said that Ibn Mas'ud told his children to read Al Waqiah's letter every night.
Mentioned in the Book of Risale al Nafi'ah, Baihaqi also narrated a similar hadith with a slightly different editorial and Sa'd al-Mufti said that this hadith is authentic. Rasulullah SAW said,
من قرأ سورة الواقعة في كل ليلة لم تصبه فاقة أبدا
Meaning: "Whoever reads Surah Al Waqiah every night, that person will be far from poverty forever."
Surah Al Waqiah is also a regular reading of Rasulullah SAW. According to a hadith, he read it until he turned gray. The meaning of gray hair here, said Amirulloh Syarbini & Sumantri Jamhar in the book The Awesomeness of Reading the Al-Quran, is that it is one of the most frequently read surahs by Rasulullah SAW.
عن ابنِ عبّاسٍ قالَ : قالَ أَبُو بَكْر رضي الله عنه: "يَا رَسُولَ الله قَدْ شِبْتَ. قالَ: شَيّبَتْنِي هُودٌ وَال "
Meaning: As told by Ibn Abbas, Abu Bakr said, "O Messenger of Allah, you have gray hair." The Prophet SAW replied, "Has made me gray hair (letters) Huud, Al-Waaqiah, Al-Mursalaat, Amma yatasaa aluun, and Idzasy Syamsu kuwwirat." (HR Tirmidhi. Al-Albani, Al-Hakim, and Adz-Dzahabi authenticated this hadith)
