THE BERLIN MOOT Description
This is the complementary app to the peacemaking conference “The Berlin Moot”, hosted by the Berghof Foundation. With this app you can register for the conference, explore the program, find your way with digital maps of the conference location, receive push-notifications for your sessions, and stay up to date with the event both in advance and on the days of the 17 & 18 April 2024.
The invitation-only conference will connect traditional peacemaking actors and policymakers with business actors, neuroscientists, experts on technology, esteemed historians, security actors, activists, and more.
The different formats of the conference, including workshop-style “PeaceLabs”, panels, fishbowls, and talks will offer a unique playing field for participants to collaborate and exchange on topics and methods that will shape the future of peacemaking. Together, we will delve into pressing questions such as: Can a human rights approach advance mediation? What is at stake when peacemakers ignore climate change, e.g. in the Horn of Africa? How do actors in the Gulf approach peacemaking? How can insights from neuroscience enhance peace negotiations? Looking at recent developments in Mozambique, which cutting-edge technologies can best support the implementation of peace agreements? And, finally, what can the private sector bring to peacemaking in contexts like Yemen?
