Today, we are a unique social community of members from all walks of the gig economy including part-timers, freelancers, gig workers and those who are underemployed to those looking to take some time from the full time grind of working for someone else. Our members know that they like the freedom of the gig economy offers, but they don't necessarily know how to incorporate as a business, the benefits it provides through protection from litigation as to taxes and income, and they also might know that insurance is important to for health and comprehensive coverage, but might not know how to set up whole life insurance as investment, or where to get even get healthcare for a part time employee. Also, how do you protect your retirement without a 401K with matched income, tax deferments and how to invest to make the most compounded interest in lieu of your 401K managing it for you. These are questions everyone could ask themselves, but often without a company, corporation/hr department doing it for us, we just don't know where to find that information and how to implement the process.
In addition, we recognize that mental wellness is a key point in everyone's success and that working for yourself as a sole proprietor or as business owner is stressful. So we partner with athletic and mindful leaders for resources and tool kits that can help our members focus, relax and live longer through meditation, breathing, self-care, and a grateful attitude that fills them with abundance and want to give back to the world.
We are not experts in any of these fields, but we know the people that are and what it takes to be successful with business, health and life and how to bring it all together in a way that makes sense in a simple format that can contribute to our members living their best life. We do this by creating exclusive content at our events with the leaders in their field presenting to you, our members, in an intimate setting where you are free to ask questions and even form a plan for what you need to do to take your career to the next level. We also have a Forum in the gigcommunity.com site and app for members to post question to their gig colleagues about work, health, clients, etc....and get them answered first hand by people that have experienced it before. In addition to our every expanding Resources and Links section, which gives members direct contact to tax pros, investment houses, insurance brokers and health professionals that are willing to work with them and have experience working with the gig working community. But possibly the best tool we have is the Anonymous Client Reviews form. Here, we've plugged in a robust national reverse phone look up API and combined it with our proprietary database of user generated client usernames for an exclusive dataset of usernames and phone numbers to fight fraud, time wasters, bigots as well as celebrate who we've loved working for, who was great, paid on-time and gave you the work which was contracted for. Working in the gig economy is hard work. Often it's low pay and tough to get ahead, but hopefully with our tools and resources at The Gig Community, we can have gig workers living more meaningful, rich, healthy connected lives.
