The Handmade Tarot Game Description
Arcane Arcade is not only a totally free, original, and innovative Tarot game but a philosophical treatise of the Tarot's 22 Major Archetypal personalities and principles. These archetypes are humanity’s ‘esoteric alphabet’ that unlock the doorway for immense spiritual insight and growth. With this App, you can choose to read each archetype’s synopsis by clicking on the ‘Learn’ Icon in the center of the home screen and then tapping whichever hand gesture interests you (go chronologically and start with the Fool if you’re unsure). The chapters are about 3 pages long and broken into three sections, archetype, element, and gesture. By reading these sections you can understand the philosophy and beauty of Arcane Arcade’s tarot battle system.
Nevertheless, you can just go right into battle by clicking on the ‘Play’ icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen. You then will choose to play in easy mode or advanced mode. Easy mode works on one simple principle that gets explained in much more detail later in this introduction. Basically, Fire (red) archetypes, like the Magician (1), beat Earth (green) archetypes, like the Devil (15), which beat Air (yellow) archetypes, like the Fool (0), which beat Water (blue) archetypes, like Death (13). Advanced mode explains how the elements operate in interaction in ties (e.g. fire with fire) and opposites (e.g. fire and air). That’s at the end of this introduction so don’t worry about understanding how that works until you want a comprehensive understanding of the game’s teachings.
Then, you get to choose whether to play with a friend or play solo. Solo play lets you face the Tarot itself which will randomly pick an archetype for you to play against. Once you know what the elemental principles are behind the Tarot, you can use this game to quickly understand where your strengths and weakness for growth are. Fire represents the Power of Spirit, Imagination, Passion, Risk, Light, and Magic. Water represents the Principles of Flow, Emotion, Compassion, Reflection, Purification, and Mystery. Air represents the Principle of Thought, Communication, Action, Space, Expansion, and Balance. Earth represents the Principle of Substance, Form, Connection, Growth, Potential, and Wealth. Like the Tarot itself, Arcane Arcade is driven by the power of synchronicity to give meaningful insights into your psyche and environment. You can get as much out of Arcane Arcade as you put in.
If you want something out of the game right away, you can use Arcane Arcade with a friend in the same way that you play Rock-Paper-Scissors. While that game is entirely arbitrary, Arcane Arcade’s system of harnessing archetypes, alchemy, and free will means the winner is synchronisticaly decided. That means you can use Arcane Arcade to help decide other things in your life as well, like who is going to cook dinner and possibly clean up too. Get creative and you’ll see the applications for Arcane Arcade everywhere. Oh yah, that is an app pun.
