The Sound Garden: Out of Sight Description
This is an immersive Sound Art installation that, thanks to Augmented Reality, is geolocated in various significant places around the world related to art and culture. It allows you to find yourself at the center of seven spheres, each emitting a sound. As you approach each sphere, you hear the voices of our dramatic decline: the sound of melting and cracking glaciers, that of deforestation and fires, the cries of seagulls flying over open-air landfills, and the screams and tears of people suffering from hunger and wars. The sounds are isolated and disconnected from each other; but by positioning yourself at the center of these spheres, these sounds suddenly achieve coherence, and rhythms, melodies, and harmonies appear in an endless sonic loop. In time, and timeless. In the hope that our time will be increasingly less finite.
Massimiliano Ionta/The Astronut
Artist-Musician Performer, pioneer in digital audio recording technologies and production, audio/video installation and digital art. The Astronaut explores the variable existing relationship between the concept of codes and the concept of soul, like the DNA representing the string of source code from which humanity is elaborated and the soul that lives in every single existence. In the absence of a generated identity, the Astronaut artist uses the abstraction of humanizing traits to become an emblem of its own notions. These concepts are represented using many types of digital media, such as immersive spatial audio and video installations, NFTs, VR, and AR installations.
