Transkarpacki Szlak Description
The Trans-Carpathian Archaeological and Cultural Trail begins in the Carpathian Troja Archaeological Open-Air Museum in Trzcinica and ends at the Museum of National History in Hanuszowce on Topla - a branch of the Provincial Museum in Prešov. It is marked with road signs indicating the directions of its course and with information boards.
The trail is implemented as part of a Polish-Slovak cross-border project co-financed by the European Union entitled Live archeology, as a unique product of cultural tourism in the Carpathians, by the Subcarpathian Museum in Krosno and the Provincial Museum in Prešov. It aims to show the most important archaeological and cultural objects located on the route and to present a common history that connects the peoples living in the Carpathian areas on both sides of the present border.
It also contributes to a better understanding of the cultural heritage, development of tourism and cultural industries in Poland and Slovakia. It strengthens cooperation between both border areas. The Trans-Carpathian Archaeological and Cultural Trail connects the brand object of cultural tourism in Poland, in the form of the Carpathian Troja Archaeological Open-Air Museum in Trzcinica, and the largest object of this type in Slovakia, which is the Archeopark in Hanuszowce on the Topla.
