Vault - Secured Encrypted Data Description
The Password Vault app allows users to securely store and manage their passwords and other sensitive information.
It provides a user-friendly interface for adding, viewing, and deleting records containing details such as website names, login usernames, passwords, and additional notes.
Upon launching the app, users are presented with a list of their stored records. They can add a new record by clicking the Add button, which opens a popup where they can enter the details for the new record. The password field has an option to show or hide the password for convenience.
Tap on an existing record to view its full details in a popup. The password is displayed in a decrypted form for easy viewing.
The app provides options in the toolbar for exporting and importing data. Users can export their records as encrypted text via email, allowing them to back up their data or transfer it to another device.
They can also import previously exported data by pasting the encrypted text in a provided dialog box.
To ensure the security of your data, we do not provide an option to export data with a plain password.
Instead, your data is encrypted and decrypted using your secret key.
It is important to use the same Secret Key if you are migrating data between devices.
To ensure the security of the app, users need to log in with a personal identification number (PIN) and to provide a secret key.
Once registered, users can log in with their PIN to access the app and view their stored records.
The PIN is securely stored using encryption techniques.
Please note that the Secret Key is an important component of the Password Vault app as it adds an additional layer of security to your stored records. The Secret Key acts as a master password that encrypts and decrypts your passwords.
It ensures that even if someone gains unauthorized access to your device or the app, they would still need the Secret Key to decipher the encrypted information. Therefore, it is crucial to keep the Secret Key secure and not share it with anyone.
