Viewlers Digital Ruler Description
This is a fully functional ad supported app.
Viewlers combines on-screen digital rulers and visual rulers by using your camera. They both can give accurate length measurements which depends on your devices screen size and dpi. In general the bigger the screen the more accurate the result.
You can manually enter the screen DPI by finding the value for your phones screen, or you can use the dpi website in the app to find it. You can also do manual calibration by increasing or decreasing dpi by 1.
The rulers are drawn as inches and centimetres. The measuring vertical line can be dragged to the required position or positioned by tapping on either side of the screen to give readings in inches, cm and mm.
Visual Ruler requires that you select a known length, take a picture using your phone and then position 4 measuring lines on screen over the photo taken to calculate length of unknown object relative to known object. When you take the photo position both objects near each other and try to zoom in on them as much as you can. This means you will get more accurate results.
Many known length objects are included like coins, sim card and dvds.
You can also convert lengths to most popular units using the built in converter.
