Word Grid Solver Description
Word Grid Solver solves word grid puzzles with a 5 x 5 grid where the positions of vowels and the starting letters of words are known.
Enter the words that must be fitted into the grid (up to 12). Enter the positions of vowels and the start of words in the input grid with v and s respectively.
Press Solve Puzzle. The number of possible positions for each word is shown after each word (the number in parentheses is the total number of positions, and the lower number is after disregarding positions that would block at least one other word from fitting in the grid at all).
The solution can be revealed in four different ways:
1. Enter guesses in the output grid and press Check Entries. The guesses are marked in green if correct or in red if incorrect.
2. Enter ? in the output grid to reveal specific boxes, and press Check Entries. The content of these boxes is revealed and shaded yellow.
3. Press Reveal Word and specify a word number to reveal.
4. Reveal the entire solution by pressing Reveal Solution.
You may build up a solution by using 1, 2 and 3 in turn. The output grid is locked after outputs are added to the grid, to make changes to the output grid press Edit above the output grid.
The inputs are locked once the puzzle has been solved. Press Edit above the words list to edit the inputs (the puzzle must then be solved again before the solution can be revealed).
The contents of the word boxes, input grid and output grid can be saved to a file in the device's internal storage by pressing Save... and specifying a filename. The file can be reloaded by pressing Load... and specifying a previously saved filename.
