AetherSX2 is a emulator of the PS Two console for the Android platform. You can play games which you have dumped from disc on your portable device.

A BIOS image **is required** to play games and is not optional. This image should be dumped from your own console, using a homebrew application. We recommend biosdrain.

You need a high end device to achieve good performance. We recommend at least a Snapdragon 845-equivalent device. This means 4 large cores (Cortex-A75 level, 500 or more single core Geekbench 5).

Disclaimers:
AetherSX2 should only be used to play games you own and have dumped from disc yourself. To dump your games, you can use a tool such as ImgBurn to create a .iso for the disc, and then copy across it to your device over USB.

Works awesome on my S21 in DEX mode. Just need the USBc to HDMI connector, a wireless charger, and a Bluetooth controller (8Bit Duo with analog sticks works great) and it's 2003 all over again. My only tiny gripe about it is that it can't browse files except what's locally on your phone. It'd be nice to have some FTP support or something. PS2 games are huge. So I've just been transferring the games from my laptop to my phone one at a time, play the game, delete it off the phone, and so on.

Dude, such an amazing emulator, you can transfer save date to and from anywhere, so you can have back ups of the app/game(s) data. Also, very customizable, you can change where you want the buttons, the size, the amount (to a limit of course), and full controller support. Not only that but the software is also editable, and by a lot. Also my phone is a mid-low range phone, and it can run quite a few games like DMC 3 and GTA SA at around 80% game speed or higher. So this is an amazing emulator.

I love this app overall. When it works, it WORKS. I use a Bluetooth controller so I'm not pressed about on-screen controls. My only gripe is that certain roms don't play properly (DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects, etc). Hopefully an update down the line will address those. Otherwise, highly recommended for a trip down memory lane.
