It took a while to figure out the app. The dashcam is really good but the Android is a little pain. After selecting "Stay connected to Wifi" (after setting "unmetered" and "use device mac") suddenly everything started working. Which suggests your Android device isn't interested in this Wifi connection because it doesn't have internet. The videos front and back are recorded but are stored in a seperate video file. Retrieving the videos is quite slow and can't be resumed or easily previewed to know what you are downloading. It is perhaps easier to just take the sdcard out and read it on your PC. It does what it should do and the dashcam is of very high quality. Yet, this app works OK but it's not a very good experience.
They need to do a better job making an app for the dashcam. Keeps disconnecting, extremely slow transfer speeds, app crashes all the time. I bought the dashcam given that I was going with a recognized brand of Pioneer. There's plenty of cheaper, better quality, and function dashcams and dashcam apps than this garbage. The dashcam doesn't even support 256 GB SD cards. Don't even get me started on the picture quality.
Purchased with a motorhome as it should have been compatible with the Pioneer audio system. Yes the cable connected but existing rear rewarding camera did not connect. Image quality was very poor in comparison to the replacement made by Thinkware
