Reading the bad reviews, I was worried this app won't work, but so far I had no issue with it. I connected the e-drums (DTX452K) via a USB 2.0 Type B male to USB-C Male cable to my Samsung S10+ and it works very well. I also tried my old phone, an S8+ which also worked without any problem. Now, the reason I gave it 4 stars, is because there is no option to save a preset of the drums settings. After you edit a drum kit the only way to go back to the default kit is to factory reset the module.
Got the DTX402 kit as a xmas gift for my son - mostly for the fact that it was customizable. Figured he would get the most use out of it. So, got the required cable to cross my USBC/USB to the proper connection. Yeah. Behold....nothing. App is utter garbage. Yamaha, you should be ashamed of yourselves that you're not even TRYING to fix it. Removing it now and wish I would've just gotten him a real kit instead of this terribly laid out electronic one. (Using a Samsung Galaxy S23)
I cannot find a way to make it work with my Dtx450k. It is not compatible at all? UPDATE: at last I got an answer from the Yamaha team. Saying that they have no plan to make the dtx400 series compatible with this app according to them because it's too old. So we are just let behind. That's a bummer 😞
