New UI is great. Works flawlessly. Integrates my Yamaha receivers, RX-A680, RX-A780 and RX-A1080. This app works exceptionally well with Qobuz, Amazon Music and Deezer. With Qobuz I can select the streaming quality on the fly. With song progress bar scrubbing and elapsed time counter. Reports file type, bit rate and bit depth now. Handles all of my sources well. In terms of stability, I'm able to run the app concurrently on multiple devices and they all are able to take control without issue.
useful interface, however, music services, such as Tidal, are very limited in what you can see. tidal, YouTube music, etc., all have great search functions, and their interface is very intuitive and easy to use and to search with. unfortunately when you use these same services inside the MusicCast application, you don't get to see any of that interface, but rather some 90's feeling display. even lists of song titles don't even display the artist. very unfortunate.
It's still awful. Every time I try to use multiroom, it does not work. I have a musicast bar 400, wx51 and (2) wx21. I always have to delete the speakers and re add them. Today, I had to do this, and it didn't work. I've had this yamaha music cast eco system for a few years now and it has never worked properly. It is a joke. I am going to look into sonos. I have been patient with yahama and after several updates, the multi room feature still does not work properly.
