The only way to get new episodes to download is to restart my phone. I've literally tried every other conceivable method and have checked all settings (do not reply with cheeky recs). I also have "download when off wifi" turned on, and the app has never downloaded even 1B of data that way. And I've repeatedly asked that you change/add the settings such that it doesn't override my screen off timer. Months later, still no change. I only continue to use it bc I stupidly bought a yearlong sub.
It was a great app, but after the latest Samsung update for my S22 Ultra , it stopped updating the podcasts. I took a hint from another user's post and restarted the phone, several times. Now it seems to be working if I force each podcast to update but still doesnt do it automatically, as before. Not the same convenience, but at least it is working.
For the nost part, it's a nice, 'minimalist' or 'bare bones' podcast app, which is what I want. However, it does feel a bit scammy, or at least sneaky sometimes. Ads pop up full screen with misleading links and the close button hidden. As long as you watch for malware and scams, this app should be fine.
