Spin app was way better, but switching everything to Bird was such a bad choice. The no ride zones are poorly optimized and put riders in danger. I specifically didn't use Bird because there were just so many issues not present with Spin and then somehow Bird bought Spin and is just making everything Bird, which I can't stress enough, is an awful idea. Spin wasn't great, but at least it was better than Bird. Now they are both kind of trash.
Really liked Spin before, but lately I've had a lot of issues with it. I'll try to end my ride in a designated spot (with like 7 other scooters parked there) and the app will indicate I'm somewhere else. My maps app however will show the correct location, so not just a phone issue, and I'm using precise location in settings. Eventually, it will let me park there after waiting 10 minutes and restarting the app. It's not every time, but it's often enough to be a huge inconvenience.
This service and app are a complete scam. I was charged outrageous amounts of money for two scooters that wouldn't even function. There is no way to request a refund in the app. While I was searching for a scooter that works my wife was getting charged crazy fees per minute. It would have been far cheaper to use Uber and I wouldn't have been frozen afterwards. The app has a map and GPS but I couldn't find a way to use it to navigate somewhere.
