Absolutely the best weather app that I've come across. This Windy app has everything imaginable and then some. I'm actually flabbergasted that I didn't know about this app sooner. And I love how there is a drop down menu for the numerous different kinds of weather maps including maps for gases and radiation. Even the windy section of the app is new and unique. Finally I've found a weather app that gives me plenty of options to choose from to keep my mind busy all while learning something. 👍👏
If you don't want a widget, Windy is the best weather app. Unfortunately, Widgets no longer work on Android w Pixel phones. You try to add a widget, and the widget settings buttons do nothing. On the off chance it puts a widget on your home screen, that widget will never load data from the app. Have changed battery optimization, notification, and myriad other settings to no avail. It's really irritating, because otherwise the app is excellent and the weather is incredibly accurate.
Update: Widgets no longer work on my Pixel 7 Pro. Since the widgets are the main reason I use this app, I'm forced to lower my rating until they're fixed. Great widgets, okay app. Wish it was more precipitation focused but hard to complain about that when the app name is Windy. Overall it's the best Dark Sky replacement I've found, but the app itself is cluttered and I make accidental taps and presses all the time. Wish it was more focused. But overall I'm pretty happy with it for my use case.
