Edit: Ads are back..... Back to 1 star.....; Original: So as of right now the Ad as soon as you open the app are gone. If you need ad support I understand but don't make the app unusable. Put banner ads in place if you need this support. They are so much less intrusive to the user experience. I have had YI since it was almost unheard of. Please don't ruin this app & your brand.
5 year user. 7 cameras. reasonable price. can see from outside my wifi network. on micro SD card. not obligated to use the cloud service. scanning feature is pretty fast. very helpful. concerned about privacy. Edit Nov 2023. app tries aggressively to get you to their cloud service. Edit Mar 2024 Loud audio ad pops in the app randomly. Splash screens to "upgrade" cameras which requires a cloud subscription. For now still a useful app.
Not bad for the money but one problem. It does a decent job I use it to monitor a door and I pay a monthly fee to record and send alerts the problem for me is that I can't turn off the advertisements, if I was using a free version that would be okay but advertisements will pop up and I think it's an alert. Give me an option to turn off ads since I'm paying monthly. If it wasn't for this issue I would give five stars. Annoying
