Table Of Contents:
Before we get started with fishing itself, your equipment can make or break your entire experience. In this case, a fishing rod can make all the difference. Here’s a list of all the fishing rods available in the game alongside the buffs and nerfs they provide:
Amateur Rod:
Just an amateur looking fishing rod
Price: 30 Jewels
Repair: $1000
Feline Rod:
A Fishing rod that looks like it can lure and catch cats.
Duck Rod:
A fishing rod with a cute rubber ducky fishing bobber
Price: $2250
Repair: $750
Wooden Rod:
A wooden fishing rod that has an acorn ornament. A good fishing rod for novice anglers.
To catch a fish, you must first equip the fishing rod. Next, you will need to navigate to the following fishing locations:
You can also go to any other place where you see an abundance of water. Once you do, equip your fishing rod and click on the backpack icon present on the right of your screen. Then, head on to the fishing rod and equip it.
After you have equipped your rod, head to the location where you want to go and then cast your fishing rod. To do so, you will need to click on the Cast button, which is conveniently present right beside your jump button. Whenever you see a fish, an exclamation icon appears.
You will then need to tap the reel fish icon, and if the Fish takes the bait, you will be able to get a hold of it. You will have to click it at the right time. You can then open the store and get it in your backpack. You will then be able to visit the store meant for fishing and interact with the NPC present there to move or sell it to houses and put it in fish tanks or an aquarium.
You are also able to purchase fish tanks from the furniture shop as well. These cost about 450 stars. To put a fish in a tank, you will need to put them in the tank and select whatever Fish you want to place them in.
After you’ve gotten the hang of fishing, you can also perform the task in steps to make it much more efficient. Firstly, get to the plaza in Kaia Island and click on your smartphone and find your map.
Once you are there, type in the fishing shop, and you will be able to find a list of areas on the map where you’ll be able to see all locations. Now, head on to the navigate option found on the lower corner of your screen. You will be able to see an arrow appearing at the top of your character, which makes navigating the shop much easier.
Now, head on to the arrow found in the shop, which is quite close to the Ferris wheel. Head to the shopkeeper and click on the cart icon, which has a speech bubble above them. You will then see a purchase fishing rod option present on the right corner of your screen.
You will then be able to purchase any of the rods that you like. For new players, you can go for the novice angler, which costs about 450. Now, head back onto the map present on your smartphone, and you'll be able to find the dock (starter location) that is present on the right.
Now, get to the edge of the pier, which is closer to the water. You should then tap on your backpack, click on the closed umbrella icon, and equip the rod to your avatar. You will now be able to use the bait option and then wait a bit, keeping an eye on the water. You will now be able to see various shadows of Fish that are near your bait. Now, remain calm with the exclamation mark appearing if the Fish has caught the bait.
Once you see the Fish move rapidly, you'll be able to hear a loud sound of the reel. You will now be able to pull the rod up. Now, tap on the Fish, and the rod icon is also present on the bottom right. It won’t be easy to catch Fish as you will need to practice catching Fish.
Do note that it is all about timing. However, do note that when the Fish moves onto the bait and moves rapidly, that is the right time to catch it. But, even then, you can't catch it most of the time as the entire ordeal requires practice.
As we've mentioned earlier, it is about timing since you shouldn’t pull the rod very early or late until you start hearing the reel sound. Do note that there is no time limit as you can catch the Fish anytime. After you've caught them successfully, hit on the Store icon so you can store the Fish.
Once you start playing the game, you’ll end up taking a look at the Fish Book, which is meant to hone your collection. Every Fish that you catch will be registered in the book. You can also find hints of Fish that you have also caught in the Fish Book. The book also provides you with detailed information about every Fish that you catch.
However, not to worry, we've included detailed information about each Fish in the game.
The rarest Fish in the game. These are the hardest to catch and have the highest value. However, do note that most of these are meant to be collector fish and provide you with a few perks and bragging rights, nothing more!
Axolotl: You can catch an Axolotl at the Home Pool, Fountain in Fashion Shoop, and appears at My House Noon. It has a height of 29 cm. The Fish is loosely based on Pokemon and has quite a timid appearance. It is one of the easier Legendary Fish to catch due to its abundance.

Crocodile: You can catch a Crocodile at the Home Pool. It has a height of 420 cm and sells for 440 bucks. The Crocodile is one of the rarest amphibians in the game and is therefore nigh impossible to catch. You will have a much better chance of catching it at noon as compared to the morning.
