GSSR (short for Guaranteed SSR) is a special type of banner that only appears twice a year in Fate/Grand Order - one during the New Year Celebration Campaign and the other during the Anniversary Celebration Campaign. As the name implies, when you roll on this banner, you will be granted 11 summons, one of which GUARANTEES 1 SSR LIMITED SERVANT from a selection of the servants available in the summoning pool.
In order to roll on this special banner, you need to spend 15 PAID SAINT QUARTZ, meaning you will have to spend around 15$ in order to roll on this banner. However, the pay off is absolutely worth it in the long run as you get 1 SSR Servant with only 15$, while many have to spend over 1000$ just to get no SSR Servants.
For the 5th anniversary celebration, the GSSR Summoning Pool will be divided into 5 banners, each representing 1 year of the game’s lifetime and featuring the Limited Servants of those respective years.
The first banner features a selection of limited servants from the year 2015 (2017 for NA) with a total selection of 14 different Servants in the pool.

The GSSR Banners are divided into 5 different banners with different servants being rated up separately on each banner. However, you can only Choose 1 of the 5 Banners to roll on, therefore, some considerations need to be taken into account for you to pick the best banner to spend your 15 Paid Saint Quartz on.
The first consideration is regarding your feelings for a banner, in other words, if that banner contains your absolute Husbandos/Waifus or Servants that you absolutely love. If it does go for that banner.
The second consideration is of necessity, especially for the meta defying characters. If you are a more gameplay oriented player and go with the meta, the 5th Banner (2021) will be the best pick for you as it rates up some of the best Meta characters even to this day in the JP Server.
The final consideration is regarding the amount of servants you don’t have on the banner. As these servants are all Limited Time Available Servants, choosing a banner that features a lot of the servants that you didn’t have yet is a great advantage. The smaller the pool, the more likely you will get a new servant to play with.
In addition to the GSSR Banner, to celebrate Fate/Grand Order’s 5th anniversary, a special new Limited Time Character is introduced into the game and rate up specifically on the 5th Anniversary Celebratory banner - Caster Artoria
Coming into Fate/Grand Order in the role of a Support Caster - the best possible class in all of Fate/Grand Order’s meta - Artoria Caster brings with her the ability to completely make the grinding in Fate/Grand Order trivial in addition to a complete power boost for Arts-based Servants.
Caster Artoria's absolute power lies in the fact that she can supply a total of 50% NP Battery Charge to 1 single Servant on the field, with 30% going to the entire team from her 1st skill and 20% from her 2nd skill to a single servant.
In addition, she buffs the team’s damage output and damage potential by increasing the entire team’s attack and increasing their NP gain, ensuring that the entire team can spam their NP with the best of their abilities.
Finally, Caster Artoria also brings with her immense defensive ability in the form of a new buff - Damage Mitigation on her NP. With this, no matter what, as long as the white shield buff exists on the team, the entire team won’t take a single hit of damage. If that’s not enough, Caster Artoria also has a flexible targetable Invincibility buff on her 3rd skill that she can grant to any servants on the field at all time.
Absolutely Yes. Caster Artoria is one of, if not, the best servant to have ever come out in Fate/Grand Order’s history in terms of both gameplay and lore. She completely trivializes the tedious farming of Fate/Grand Order and offers immense utility and supporting capability fitting for a top-notch Support Caster. If you want to keep up with Fate/Grand Order’s gameplay meta for the next 2 years of the game, getting Caster Artoria is a must.
