How to Play Geo Gods

Geo Gods is divided into three main parts: the game tiles, the Power Crystals, and your cards. Each of these elements plays a crucial role in determining your strategy and success in the game. The game tiles form the board on which you place your gods. Surrounding the tiles are Power Crystals, each influencing a specific number of tiles. 

For instance, the Fire Power Crystal influences seven tiles, each marked with a fire symbol. Similarly, the Water Power Crystal also influences seven tiles. It's interesting to note that a single tile can be influenced by multiple crystals, up to a maximum of four.

These Power Crystals belong to six different Elements: Fire, Water, Woods, Desert, Stone, and Snow. The interaction between the tiles and the Power Crystals becomes vital in the game's later stages. Fire gods embody destruction and chaos, while water gods represent duplication and expansion. Nature gods align with growth and creation, while sun gods are related to isolation and scarcity. The gods on the cards have special abilities that you can activate during the game. To trigger a card's ability, you must place its god onto a game tile. Some cards even have abilities that activate while they are still in the draft area, marked with the "Draft" keyword.

The Mana-Bar and Placing Gods

Placing gods on the tiles is not a free action. You have a limited resource called Mana-Gems, which allows you to place gods on the tiles. At the beginning of the game, you start with 17 mana gems, and you always use the leftmost one for placing gods.

The cost of placing a god on a tile depends on the number of elements present on that tile. For example, if a tile has h elements, the active, leftmost mana gem needs to have a value of at least 4 to place a god on it. If the value is less than 4, you won't be able to place the god on a h-cost tile. However, there is a way to reduce the mana cost for placing a god.

If you look at the top right of the card, you can see a second element, which the god is sympathetic with. Placing a god on a tile that has an element the god likes will reduce the cost of placing it there by 1. This can be a strategic move to manage your Mana-Gems efficiently.

Gameplay and Strategy

Once you've placed a god, it triggers its ability. For example, the fire god reduces each Mana-Gem in the bar by one and gains +7. After that, the god adds its current score value to the Power Crystal of its type, in this case, the fire crystal. The game's ultimate goal is to fill all tiles with gods and activate all Power Crystals. Activating the Power Crystals grants a score bonus to all gods placed on the tiles they influence. 

When all six Power Crystals have been activated, you earn a special score bonus for each element on each empty tile. To maximize your score, you can try to activate all Power Crystals with as few gods as possible. This completion bonus can significantly impact your final score.

Managing Your Cards

As you progress through the game, you'll need to manage your cards effectively. After placing a god, its card and all remaining face-up cards will be discarded. However, there are two options to avoid this.

Firstly, you can use the card lock function. You can lock one card in the draft area by tapping the lock button. A locked god card will remain in the draft area until you choose to unlock it. This allows you to preserve valuable cards for later use.

Secondly, you can manually refresh the three face-up cards. Keep in mind that refreshing the first time will reduce the current Mana-Gem by 1. If you refresh more than once without placing another god, the current Mana-Gem will be completely removed. Be mindful of your Mana-Gems while using this powerful tool.

Scoring and Game End

The game's total score can be viewed on the top left of the screen. The game ends either when all tiles are full or when you have run out of mana gems. In Geo Gods, your high score is calculated as the average of six games; after each game, players receive a score to measure their skill.
