What is Grimlight?

Grimlight is a Grid-Based Strategic Role Play Game. You will have to fight enemies with a party of 10 heroes (max party size) placed in a grid of 4 x 3 spots. Position and heroes / enemies elements is the key of the game . You will have different kinds of character archetype ( Knights, Warrior, Thief, Mages, Archers and Sages ) with different elements ( Fire, Earth, Water, Dark and Light ) to fight with, so countering the enemies element and knowing the best position for your heroes will lead you to victory.

Game Content

Story

The “Story” is the first game content you will experience in Grimlight when you start playing. Story content leads you to the plot of the game, while also letting you gather a lot of good resources ( Exp material, Gears, Upgrade Material etc. ) Every stage in the story has “stars objectives'. Completing the stars gives you additional rewards, and for completely unlocking a chapter, you will also need to complete “ Challenging Mode ” that will be unlocked after finishing the normal mode for every stage.

Resources Dungeon

The Resources Dungeons feature 5 different dungeons:

  • The “ Gold Egg Hunt ” rewards you with golds. After you finish a stage difficulty you will be able to “ Swipe ” the stage, letting you consume more stamina (max x20 times) doing a single battle, but that will reward you as you played multiple times, saving your time.

  • The “ Experience Manifestation ” helps you collect Experience materials to increase your character level. Same as Gold Egg Hunt, you will have different difficulty and monsters, and the same Swipe mechanic as well.

  • The “ Grand Library '' lets you enter 3 times x day, with no stamina cost, and collect books for improving your characters. Remember to use all your entries daily!

  • The “ Forgotten Forge ”. Let you five 5 waves of monsters and reward you with items that will increase the tier level of your gear.

  • The “ Elemental Mastery ” dungeon rewards you with elemental fragments of different types, depending on the day of the week. It costs stamina, but with no entry restriction.

Path of Midnight Tears

The “Path of Midnight Tears” will be the first end game oriented content you will have in the game. Starting with level 10-20, it will grow up as you finish every previous difficulty. In this game mode, you will fight challenging ” rifts” to try to get gear equipment and materials . Each rifts start with a “low level” enemies waves, if you win, you will move to next one (5 stages at max) and you will fight the “Max level” for the tier you have choose (Ex: Tier 1 Rift have level 10-12-14-16-18 enemies for 1-2-3-4-5stages) If you fail a stage in between the start and the end of the rift, you will only receive the rewards for the actual stage, so aim to reach the end for a chance to drop best gear. If you don't feel confident about your power level, you can always use the “Practice” for Path of Midnight Tears with no stamina cost (but also with no rewards) and test your team. Every day, random buffs and challenges will be assigned to every rift, every battle within the rift will have those modifiers.

Arena of Souls

The only PvP content in the game is the “ Arena of Souls ” mode. In the Arena, you will choose a “ Siege Team ” and a “ Defence Team ” to fight with. Siege team can be always changed before every fight, while Defence Team is instead set and it will play automatically when someone will try to defeat you (so Arena is not in real time but vs AI).

Potential

In the “Potential” tab you can use Tomes to increase your character passive Attack, Defence and Hp. The more the level increases, the more the required book and gold.

Awaken

With the “Awaken” function you can use character dupes ( Shards ) with gold to unlock a maximum of 9 random Nodes that will increase your stats ( Atk, Hp, Def, Crit etc. ) at random. Every node requires the character shard, some levels and golds. If you get 3 of the same kind of nodes ( Red for attack oriented nodes, Blue for defensive and Green for survivability) you will unlock a further bonus passive, and this passive reaches maximum power unlocking 9 nodes of the same colour. If you get a node that does not match your desire, you can reroll them with golds, until you get what you want.

Battle Guide

This is the battle grid in Grimlight. On the left you have your squad, on the right the enemy side. Character and monster will move automatically until they meet, respecting the lines where they are, so it's important to have Guardian and/or Warriors on first columns, Sages and Mages on the back lines, and Archers and / or Thievies when you need to kill target from afar or ambushing backlines. Always check the cost of the unit ( mid crystal ) and find out the best comp for every stage .
