Punishing Gray Raven is a unique uptake on the hack and slash Genre. It takes basic hack and slash mechanics and up it a notch. The game has a unique orbs system that at first may seem very simple but mastering it will make you say otherwise. The game mechanics can be very hard to understand and master, especially for specific characters.
If you are looking to play Lucia Dawn as your main pick in Punishing Gray Raven, you should check this guide to tell you everything you need to know to play her.
Content:
"Lucia's signature body. Its power and elegance inspire her comrades on the battlefield. It has been given the title "Dawn," for it is seen as a symbol of hope."
Lucia Dawn is a Base A rank Assault class character that deals with physical and Lightning damage. She uses quick, agile attacks and takes out her enemies by using different combos. Unlike the Base Lucia Lotus, you get at the beginning of the game Dawn surpasses her in agility many times over.
Besides her being an A-Rank Variant of Lucia Lotus, her physical appearance is also quite appealing.

The second body of Lucia, this structure body deals Lightning damage, Faster attack and is very agile. However, this body is frail against heavy attacks and has a very high-risk play style.
She can do both PHY and elemental damage while overall good at damaging a single target which doesn’t mean that she isn’t effective against multiple enemies; she has an AoE after activating her Ultimate, which can group up mobs with blue and shred them to pieces.
Core Passive:
By hitting an enemy, Lucia Dawn gets stack on them and marks them. By plugging an enemy which is marked, there is a chance to trigger a lightning strike. Light strike deals 60 percent Lightning Damage. However, the possibility of landing a lightning strike can be increased based on the number of stacks on an enemy. The strike chance at one pile is 25 percent on the 2nd stack, it is 50 percent, and on the 3rd and final stack, it is 75 percent.
Orb Skills:
Ability Marking - When an enemy is hit by a Lucia Dawn basic Attack or an orb, Lucia Dawn marks an enemy. These marks can be stacked up to 3 times, making Lucia Dawn deal more damage. So, if you want to get more Stacks on Lucia Dawn, just activate more orbs.
Lucia Dawn Has three different active abilities which use her orbs. She also has one Core Passive which activates after you get three stacks on an enemy.
Orbs Abilities:
With auto attacking the enemy, you get orbs. Clicking on these orbs allows you to use different abilities depending on which color the Orb is. Lucia Dawn Abilities for each colored Orb are as follows.
Yellow Orbs Ability:
Her yellow ability is used to create a lightning field or do an initial physical good chunk of damage. Each time the enemy gets hit by the yellow ability Lucia Dawn gets a stack on them, which deals additional damage. Lucia deal 100 to 300 percent physical damage depending on the stacks you have right now. With each hit, there is a lightning field that lasts from 3 to 5 seconds.
In this lightning field, Lucia deals 20 to 40 percent damage dependent on the number of stacks. To increase the duration of this ability, you just need to have more yellow Orbs. You can use yellow Orbs to increase the uptime of the ability hence dealing more DPS with your physical and lightning attacks.
Blue Orb Ability:
Her blue ability allows her to lung towards an enemy making her deal lightning damage and mark the target. The lunging attack does 80 to 240 percent damage depending on the stacks you have. After lunging, she pulls her enemy towards her and deals physical damage, and cc them.
After pulling the enemy towards her, Lucia does 80 to 240 percent physical damage depending upon the number of stacks you have. This ability is used as a cc ability, so if you find yourself against an enemy which is hard to damage, use this ability as it will buy you time.
Red Orb Ability:
Lucia performs multiple attacks and goes in a fury attack state. Each red Orb attack makes five-speed fury attacks. By using only one Orb, each attack would only do 40 percent physical damage. For two orbs, the damage is double and is 80 percent physical damage. However, for the three balls, the story is different. The third Orb will change the attack's nature from physical to lightning and increase the damage up to 144 percent Lightning damage.
When Lucia Dawn is in Red Orb state, it gives her a super guard. This guard will make her immune to any kind of cc, letting her go into an unstoppable frenzy. Lucia Dawn's red Orb ability can be extended by using more Red Orbs, so the simple rule of thumb the more Red Orbs you have, the longer the combo, the more the damage.
Active Abilities:
Attack:
Lucia Dawn's basic attack damages almost around 650 percent physical damage when she is at full stacks.
QTE:
To talk about Lucia Dawn QTE, we need to understand what QTE is first. Each squad member has a designated color to them. The color is assigned in the lobby, whereby putting your character you can give them a core color.
So, for example, if you put Lucia Dawn in a yellow core, she will need to use three yellow Orb to activate her QTE.
When Lucia Dawn's QTE is activated, she will either come on the battlefield and use her QTE ability or use it if you have equipped her. Lucia Dawn's QTE is a fast-speed attack that initially does 210 percent physical damage to enemies. While it also does 570 percent Lightning Damage over time to an enemy target.
Ultimate:
Lucia Dawn ultimately amplifies the basic attacks and skills of the character with 25 percent lighting for 15 seconds. The ability can be used to Iframe damage and can be recast many times during this duration. Making the abilities downtime almost negligible.
Ascension:
Lucia Dawn on Base is an A rank structure, but you can increase her to a triple S plus by fighting shards.
SS:
When Lucia Dawn ascends to Double SS, she gets an additional 20 percent Lightning to her lightning field. Hence making her Yellow Orb ability stronger.
SSS:
If you increase Lucia Dawn to Triple S, she gets increased passive core damage. The core passive will now do an additional 20 percent Lightning damage when processing core damage.
SSS+:
After reaching triple S plus, Lucia Dawn gets increased damage for 10 seconds after using her ultimate. So if you use her Gurren Blade Ultimate, you will do 15 percent additional damage for the next 10 seconds.
Combos:
The first one is Blue plus Yellow, where she will create an electric field where Yellow orb Skill will boost her elemental damage. You can keep on consuming the Yellow Orb Skill to get the damage boosts, where the duration can be maximum when doing with a 3-Ping Yellow. The second one is a Yellow/3-ping and 3-Ping Red Orb doing a ton of damage.
Weapons:
Lucia Dawn uses different swords from which the lower star swords are not even worth upgrading, as the 3-star sword. However, the four-star blade is a decent alternative if you want to use especially early to mid-game. It provides decent damage and does an excellent job against Enemies. However, you need to transition from the 4-star sword to the five stars or six stars one.
Her 6-star sword is her signature sword, and it does extra lightning damage and increases your ultimate damage. This sword's max level can reach 45 and will have very high attack damage late game.
Kageuchi – Break ★★★★★★
Weapon story – Rebellion is not a weapon but the code name of a particular experimental plan. The first thing to engulf this experiment on a weapon is this shadow fight—rebellion.
Skill 1: Shadow of Rebellion – Every time Lightning damage is dealt, increase Lightning damage by 5%, last for 4 seconds, tacks up to 4 times, triggering it again will refresh the duration. After releasing ultimate, gain 10% extra damage last for 10 seconds; triggering it again will refresh the duration.
Memories:
In-game recommendations, 5* memories are more popular than 6* memory builds.
General Use build:
Heisen ★★★★★★
2-set Effect – Increase all damage by 3% and lightning damage by 7%.
4-set Effect – Each attack has a 25% chance of triggering a 3.5m radius lightning explosion. The explosion deals 100% damage and inflicts Electrify for 5s to enemies caught in it, CD: 5s. Electrify decreases the enemy's lightning resistance by 8%. Attacking Electrified enemies have a 20% chance of triggering Lightning Chain that causes 250% to all enemies inflicted with Electrify.
Erwin ★★★★★
2-set Effect – Increase basic attack's damage by 10%.
4 set Effect – Increase basic attack's damage by 15%. Buff disappears when attacked, returns after 12s.
Below are the recommended Partners that she can work alongside in different content, but we always prefer to be creative and have fun with different Variants and builds.
Lucia Dawn is a 4-star character, so you may have ended up pulling her in the early game. Plus, she is from the base pool, so she is not ready to go anywhere. So if you are planning to build Lucia Dawn as your main just because you vibe with her, then go for it. But if you are the type of person that doesn't care about character design and wins at all costs, then don't.
Lucia Dawn is an overall good character, but it can still get outclassed by other lightning-using characters. So if you are someone who wants to play Lucia Dawn for fun, then build her, but if you are someone looking for a character that is best in the game, she is probably not for you.

"Leader of Gray Raven. A leader that has a huge amount of bravery and the spirit to sacrifice, following orders with the strength of the will to combat the infected enemy."
Lucia is one of the four structures during the launch that can use a sword in the game and has three Variants: Red Lotus (B-rank), Dawn (A-rank), Crimson Abyss (S-rank). Red Lotus is the primary structure you unlock in the game for free just by playing. This Variant allows you to play Lucia as a close-combat structure specializing in rapid attacks. Red Lotus's base rank is B-rank.
After the Punishing Virus had infected the first Lucia Variant and discovered the truth about Luna, the original Lucia Variant decided to join with her after knowing Nikola lied about her death. Nikola also decided to create a clone of her with the earliest memories but locking her memories to find out the truth of her intention to join the Ascendants. Lucia is now the Captain of the Gray Raven Team alongside her commander and her team members Lee and Liv.
She deals PHY and elemental damage, making her a flexible character in the game even though she is just a B-Rank structure while dealing a good amount of damage to mobs and Bosses if you build her well. The best thing about giving her to you at the start of the game is that she is not so much an easy Structure to play, which gives you an idea of what the game has to offer; meaning if you start the game by learning her combos well, you can repeat that with any other character having a higher Rank and more damage kit.
Core Passive – Enter burst state, utilizing dual blades as basic attacks when expending a Red orb within 4s after any 3-orb. Continuously attack the enemy for a total of 1080% Physical damage.
Core Passive is what Lucia Lotus is about, her staple move and 3-Ping combo. She goes into an enhanced stage when she activates her Core Passive and starts attacking with her dual blades. So, the cool thing about her is that she can swap in and use this time to do devastating amounts of damage.
This can be enhanced further by the fact that if you run out of orbs, you can swap in another character, farm some orbs, swap Lucia back in, and she deals tons of damage. After the damage, she will have enough orbs to start over again. So do remember to do any 3-Ping and then a Red Orb for her dual blades to come out, which is procced whenever she swaps in as any Structure that swaps in does damage equal to 3-Ping of their QTE.
Orb Skills:
The key to her performance is her combos with Orb Skills and swapping her in and out at appropriate times, requiring practice.
Red Orb – Thrust forward towards the target, pulling them in and dealing 266.72%/533.32%/800% Physical damage.
This skill has a huge lung forward and deals damage, which can be used as a gap closer when needed. Red Orb Skill is also the ability used when you swap her in during a fight and provides you with a 3-Ping which is a good option during the fights.
Blue Orb – Ignite the weapon, dealing 100%/200%/300% Physical damage. Attacks gain additional 10%/15%/20% Fire damage for 4/4/6 seconds.
Blue Orb Skill goes well to increase damage and is a part of the Core Passive combo to activate the dual blade.
Yellow Orb – Launch the target swiftly in one strike, dealing 150%/300%/450% Physical damage.
This skill is a knock-up as well, followed by AA or any other Orb Skill.
Active Abilities:
Attack – Continuously attack, dealing 540% Physical damage.
QTE – Enter the battlefield with dual blades, dealing 1110% Physical damage.
Ultimate – Expend 100 energy to unleash a flurry of blades, dealing 140% Physical damage for every hit, and 1000% Physical damage on the final hit.
Passive Abilities:
Leader – All Assault structures' attack +10%
Awaken – When entering the battle, get 3 signal balls (only once per battle).
Class Passive – Damage +20%.
SS Rank – Targets launched into the air receive 20% additional Physical damage.
SSS Rank – Damage +15% during dual blades mode.
SSS+ Rank – Basic attack damage +15%.
Weapon Signature – Lotus Berserker ★★★★★★
Weapon info – The blade is 1.0 meters long and is forged with reinforced tungsten high-speed steel. The fire resistance is excellent. High temperatures on the surface cannot do anything to it at all. In addition to the sharpness of the blade, the Red Lotus Fanatic can also make a qualitative change in the attack mode of the structure.
Skill 1: Furious Blade – 10% Damage increase to regular attacks. Every normal attack increases physical damage by 5% for 2 seconds, stack up to 5 times.
General Usage Build:
Barton ★★★★★★
2-set Effect – Increase critical chance and physical damage by 5%.
4-set Effect – For every non-critical attack dealt, the following physical attack's critical chance increases by 2%, stackable up to 20%. Critical chance is reset once a critical attack has landed. Physical damage increases by 5% whenever you land a critical strike for 3s, stackable up to 3 times.
Condelina ★★★★★★
2 set Effect – Increase basic attack's damage by 15%.
4-set Effect – Basic attacks have a 25% chance to trigger Berserk Mode. During Berserk Mode, Increase basic attack damage by 15% and critical chance by 5%. Lasts for 5s, CD: 8s
Warzone – Since she is PHY/Fire DMG, she can be used both in PHY and Fire weather Warzone optimally.
Lotus can perform decently well on other Warzone weathers. It won't be as optimal as other structures with specific Purpose since the other Warzones have different buff elemental damages.
Warzone Teams – If you do not need a healer, then Nanami Storm might also be great for her PHY RES down debuff on her SS rank, allowing for faster kills with Lotus.
You can also use Kamui Tenebrion as the Tank if you have pulled him successfully from the Gacha as the highest recommended Tank in the game.
You can also use Bianca as her support to set up the game for Lotus and swap her either when Slow-mo is activated or when you have enough Pings to support Lucia Lotus’s combo.
Pain Cage Teams – Karenina is perfect for Lotus as a partner since his QTE reduces the enemy's Fire RES, buffing Lotus’ damage even more.
Live Hope is very significant with Alpha during the 4th and 5th stages of Pain Cage, where your HP is drained over time since her heal is instant and gives Barrier.
Nanami Pulse is another strong candidate as support for Alpha as she provides reduced PHY RES on SS-Rank, making her the most valuable structure for Lotus.

Lucia Alpha Crimson Abyss, S-Rank:
Alpha, aka Lucia: Crimson Abyss, is one of the strongest playable characters in Punishing Gray Raven. She is an infected version of Lucia, making her one of the best Physical Sword-wielding constructs in the entirety of PGR. Even though PGR already offers a plentitude of playable characters, players on the global version of the game eagerly await Alpha to launch.
She is a Pure Physical DPS. A mysterious enemy was first encountered by Gray Raven during an operation in City 015, leaving a solid yet casual impression.
Alpha (aka Unknown Construct α) is probably one of the first-ever Infected that you can play as a playable character and also one of the strongest physical swords wield structures in the game.

The only thing probably lacking for the long term about Alpha Lucia is her HP.
The original Lucia: Crimson Abyss (aka Alpha) became one of the self-proclaimed 'Ascendant beings' by joining her sister Luna after finding out she is still alive.
Originally, Lucia was sent out on a mission with her former Commandant and teammates. During the fight, her teammate was in an awful state and infected by the virus while hordes of Infected surrounded the Commandant.
Lucia wanted to save all of her teammates, but the Commandant ordered her to rescue him instead, thus making her wounded teammate die in the process and give in to the Punishing virus. Reaching the Commandant's location, he was nowhere to be found, leaving Lucia alone on the battleground.
Feeling betrayed by her Commandant and guilt of her teammate's demise, Lucia got ambushed by Riot. The virus also infected Lucia; during the fight, thus making her feel the pain of the virus that had infected her body as she kept on fighting.
The Lucia that we see in story mode is a new copy of the consciousness of main Lucia but with all the sealed memories.
Alpha could never kill an innocent being, as shown in Frozen Darkness' event that she did not kill a young human boy when he interfered in her battle.
In the Frozen Darkness event, she told the other Lucia, 'She will be waiting for that day to come. Presumably, she's waiting for the other Lucia to regain her memories and see what path she will choose.
Alpha's swordsmanship skills are powerful that she doesn't require a body enhancement, The virus does give her more strength, but she only relies on her skills rather than the side effect of the virus itself.
Alpha also loves traveling around with her motorcycle and looking for an opponent that matches her strength. She also fought her clones: Lucia Red Lotus and Lucia Dawn.
According to Punishing Gray Raven’s official discord channel, Alpha aka Lucia: Crimson Abyss will launch in a time of one month from the game’s official release. Players can use PGRs gacha system – R&D section to research for Alpha during her event Frozen Darkness.
Here are the different skills and abilities that Alpha can use in PGR.
Core Passive – After a 3-orb consumption of Blue orbs, consume any color of 3-orbs again to enter Sword Wave mode; all orbs will be converted into Sword Wave orbs and gain an additional of 2 Sword Wave orbs. Unleash Sword Waves damages the enemy, dealing 170(340) % of physical damage and gains super armor during casting.
Orb Skills:
Orb Skills comes in three forms – Red, Blue, and Yellow. Each of them has their use and are different from one another.
Red Orb – Flash attacks surrounding enemies, dealing 12.5/25/37.5(25/50/75) % of physical damage. 3-orbs consumption will deal an additional 37.5/75/112.5(75/150/225) % physical damage upon the final strike and send the target flying, gains super armor during casting.
Blue Orb – Enhance energy regeneration, increase movement speed by 20%/30%/50%, and deal an additional 2/4/6(4/8/12) % physical damage twice per attack.
When entering Sword Wave mode and releasing Sword Waves, convert the additional damage into additional sword waves, with each dealing 4/8/12(8/16/24) % physical damage.
This has a good buff that can help Lucia out a lot; you can use this skill when on the battlefield to swap her out with Blue slot, and this blade attack when swapping in is OP and turns the Orbs into special pinging Orbs.
Yellow Orb – Dashes and slashes through enemies, damaging them along the way, dealing 100/200/300(200/400/600)% of physical damage.
Active Abilities:
Attack – Lucia attacks with a 5-hit sword style, with each sequence dealing 40(80) %/50(100) %/60(120) %/90(180) %/100(200) % of physical damage, enter 3rd sequence immediately after dodging.
QTE – Continuously uppercuts the enemy, dealing a total of 300(600) % of physical damage, keeping the enemy airborne throughout the attacking duration.
Ultimate – Assaults the enemy with a flurry of slashes, dealing up to a total of 1300(2600) % physical damage.
After the basic Ulti is finished, she swings a final time which deals a massive amount of damage to the enemy. Her Ultimate is useful against challenging content.
Passive Abilities:
Leader – All Assault type teammates gain an additional 10% attack damage and 5% critical chance.
Awaken – When entering the battle, get 3 signal balls immediately (only once per battle). Needs to be unlocked.
Class Passive – Damage is increased by 10(20) %.
SS Rank – After a 3-orb consumption of Red Orbs, increase physical damage by 10%, lasts for 4 seconds.
SSS Rank – After exiting Sword Wave mode, gain 2 random orbs.
SSS+ Rank – During the effects of Blue orb consumption, physical damage increases by 15%.
During perfect evasion and entering Supercomputing Space, press any single Blue Orb to do a 3-Orb Ping to enter Sword Wave mode.
Early game, you can start with whatever Katana you have, but start with a 4* one whenever you can. Try to pull for her signature Katana weapon, and if you have gotten a 5* instead, it's good enough to carry you through to the end-game. Nonetheless, do try to get her signature 6* Katana weapon for optimal gameplay.
Weapon Signature:
Red Cherry Blossom ★★★★★★
Weapon info – The blade is 1.0 meters long and is forged by mixing various materials very violently. Surprisingly, the power of the blade has never decreased. For some reason, as the number of slashes increased, the blade's color became more and more bright red.
Skill 1: Falling Cherry Blossoms – Gain 2% Increase in Physical damage for every Orb consumed, Stacking up to 10 times. Lasts for 5 seconds. Gain one additional sword wave orb in sword wave mode. 10-second cooldown
Kuji no Ken ★★★★★
Weapon info – forged with super-hard high-speed steel, the blade is 0.9 meters long and equipped with a tiny shooting device. When slashing, it can also trigger the shooting device, which causes an attack that resembles a Lightning Strike.
A strange sword made based on the famous sword of old age. The concept itself is too old to adapt to the battlefield.
Skill: Magic Sword – Attacks have a 20% chance of causing Lightning Strike, dealing 50% ATK of Physical damage. Cool down for 3 seconds.
Warzone build:
Hanna ★★★★★★
2-set Effect – 3 orb skills deal 25% more damage.
4-set Effect – Every 30s, the following 3 orb skills will trigger slow-mo. The character will gain 1 random orb.
Pain Cage Build:
Darwin ★★★★★★
2-set Effect – Increase all damage by 3% for every Orb consumed, lasts for 4s, up to 5 stacks.
4-set Effect – When consuming an orb, the Orb's corresponding color is stored. When three colors are collected, release a 12m radius shockwave with the character as the center that deals 600% physical damage.
Build 3:
Aife ★★★★★
2-set Effect – Increase all damage by 2% for every Orb consumed, lasts for 3s. 5 stacks max, with each stack resetting the buff's duration.
4-set Effect – Every 60s, the next 3 orb skill will trigger slow-mo.
Ike ★★★★★
2-set Effect – Increase all damage by 2% and elemental damage by 4%.
4-set Effect – There's a 15% chance to Burn, Shock, Freeze, and Corrode (depending on the element). Lasts for 5s with a cooldown of 8s on each enemy.
Memory Affixes – For the top slot, it is generally better to get Blue Orb affix as this buff combined with Sword Wave will produce devastating and impressive damage. The rest of the orbs and AA are entirely optional.
The Bottom slot is straightforward, get Core Passive only, but increasing Ultimate damage won't hurt if you decide not to roll the affixes. Anything that increases Sword Wave damage is a must.
Content and Teams:
Warzone – Alpha does her best in Warzone due to how strong her Sword Wave move destroys multiple enemies at once. Since she is all PHY DMG, PHY Warzone is the only stage she performs optimally.
Alpha can perform decently well on other Warzone weathers. It won't be as optimal as other structures with specific Purpose since the other Warzones have different buff elemental damages.
Warzone Teams – Karenina Blast is probably the best staple unit to team up with her in Warzone since her QTE gathers up enemies into one place, allowing Alpha to mow down the enemies with Sword Waves.
If you do not need a healer, then Nanami Storm might be great for her PHY RES down debuff on her SS rank, allowing for faster kills with Alpha. However, you can always bring along a healer if need be.
You can also use Kamui Tenebrion as the Tank if you have pulled him successfully from the Gacha as the highest recommended Tank in the game.
Pain Cage – Alpha's burst damage potential is very high, so she's also outstanding against many bosses in Pain Cage. Roland, in particular, is weak to PHY DMG, so that he will be a straightforward target for ALPHA. Rosetta takes more damage when you do close combat, which is what Alpha excels at.
Avoid Tifa as she is highly resistant to PHY DMG.
Pain Cage Teams – Kamui is perfect for Alpha as a partner since his QTE reduces the enemy's PHY RES, buffing Alpha's damage even more.
Live Hope is very significant with Alpha during the 4th and 5th stages of Pain Cage, where your HP is drained over time since her heal is instant and gives Barrier.
Nanami Pulse is another strong candidate as support for Alpha as she provides reduced PHY RES on SS-Rank, making her the most valuable structure for Alpha.

Lucia Dawn overall is a very balanced champ and provides a fantastic gaming experience. The character lightning aspect makes you feel real badass while going through your enemies in-game. The character has a relatively easy learning curve making it easier for you to master it. So if you are thinking about playing this champ, you should. Alpha/Crimson Abyss Lucia is still one of the best Structures in the game due to her strength and bursting, swift play, and consistent DPS, making her very potent to use on either against a group of enemies or even a single Boss. Also, she is probably the best PHY DD in the game, topping Lee Matrix. For any new player, it is recommended to save up your premium currency, the black cards to try and pull for her and her weapon whenever her rotation banner is up.
Last but not the least, Lucia Lotus is going to be the very first character that you will play with for free and the first character you can farm the shards of quite early on. Farming shards makes Lotus the best bet starting out until you can farm the other two Variants.
