Let’s play Punishing Gray Raven on PC and find out together!
Punishing Gray Raven’s brand new The Surviving Lucem update can be divided into different sections - the Extra Story Chapter, the New Characters Interludes and special challenge and farming stages in addition to an event shop.
Available from this update onwards, the newly introduced Extra Story Chapter - The Surviving Lucem allows players to go through the events leading up to the introduction and subsequent joining of Liv: Empyrea into the Gray Raven squad. Go through the extra story chapter and obtain many valuable materials for character upgrading and special currencies for gacha in the game.
There are 2 difficulties for the Extra story chapter - Normal and Hidden with the Hidden difficulty requiring players to invest heavily into their characters so be sure to be prepared for this challenge.
During the Update duration, a new character interludes chapter will be available for all players that are lv 40 and above and have access to character interludes.
Clearing these character interludes provides players with extra background information for the new character introduced during this Update - Liv: Empyrea. In addition, playing the interlude chapters allow players to playtest the new characters of this update, allowing them to have a better understanding of their playstyles and help decide if you should roll for the new characters.
Clearing these Character Interlude Chapters also reward players with a lot of gacha currencies, so make sure to clear them while they are available during this Update since once this Update has
passed, you will need to own the characters to access these Interlude Chapters again.
In addition to brand new permanent contents added into the game like the story chapter and the character interludes, we also receive Event Specific Farming Stages that only last during the Update period and will be gone forever after the update has ended.
Farming these stages will reward players with special currencies that they can then use to exchange for various rewards from the Event Shop such as EXP pods, Cogs, Brand New Set of Memories and special event exclusive items.
Farming the Special Event stages will reward players with special currencies that they can then use to exchange for various rewards from the Event Shop such as EXP pods, Cogs, Memories.
Players should prioritize getting the event exclusive 6* Memories for Liv: Empyrea from the event shop first and foremost as they cost a large amount of event currencies. Once players have exchanged for all of the shards, players then can priorities other upgrading materials such as EXP, Cogs Boxes, 6* Memories, etc.
It is also important to note that special Memories that suit Liv: Empyrea combat prowess will be discounted during the event’s period as well, so players should exchange 1 set of that special memories set in order to boost her combat capabilities. This special memory set should only be equipped to Liv: Empyrea as it buffs her powerful strikes as a Amplifier construct and spawn a special drone to help her heal allies and buffs their fire damage output.
With the release of the new update, a brand new game mode has been introduced for all players to participate in and obtain special currencies and character upgrading materials that they can use to obtain premium currencies and special constructs upgrading materials. In addition, the ultimate prize and goal for this gamemode is the time exclusive skin for Liv: Lux - Lingering Fragrance.
During the time period, players can form special squads of characters to be dispatched on special missions on a grid like map and challenge special battle stages in order to obtain special currencies to exchange for items in the shop.
The constructs available for this mode will be pre-built and provided directly to all players, limiting the players’ ability to form squads with their own powerful constructs and make it so that players will need to spend a event specific item to further enhance these constructs in order to advance to higher tiers and difficult battles.
In order to exchange the exclusive Liv: Lux skin, players will need to advance to at least the 4th tier of difficulty and clear the stage in order to unlock the ability to exchange for the skin.
During the event’s duration, players will need to pay attention to the entire server’s progress as the entire server will need to clear a certain amount of blocks on the map in order to advance in the map to unlock harder stages. This makes it so that players’ personal progress will be tied to the entire server’s progress,
therefore, players should contribute to the entire server’s endeavor to clear the blocks on the map, helping to unlock the harder stages to be able to exchange for the time exclusive skin.
The highlight of the patch is the specially available banners for the new characters that is introduced in this Update - The 6* Fire Element Liv: Empyrea, her special weapon and a special banner for the brand new special skin that players can get by spending their Black Cards or Special R&D tickets for a chance to get them.
Liv: Empyrea is the first ever Amplifier class Construct of the Fire element and the first ever Amplifier class construct in the game. Liv: Empyrea’s main strong point lies in her ability to buff the entire fire team’s damage output, dealing massive amounts of fire elemental damage to a large amount of enemies and heals all allies all the while.
Liv: Empyrea orbs and pings allows her to deal massive amounts of damage to all enemies in front of her, holding them in place and crowd controlling all enemies in addition to healing all allies proportionally to the damage she dealt.
Liv: Empyrea’s ultimate allows her to enter a special fire field, granting her special orbs that when used, will grant her special stacks that deal extra fire damage to all enemies within her field once her field’s duration ends, dealing massive amounts of damage.
Yes, Absolutely. Liv: Empyrea is notoriously known to be game breaking and is the center piece to all Fire elemental teams in the game’s history, making her one of the most powerful constructs in the game’s history. Therefore, rolling for and getting her is a must if players want to even attempt to play Fire teams in the game in the future.
