Slap and Run is an addictive new arcade game from developers VOODOO, who is popular for developing other well-known titles on the mobile platform such as Scribble Rider, Push em all, aquapark.io, and many more addictive titles.
Their newest game, Slap and Run, see you running on the street and slapping pedestrians at the same time, trying to get away without being caught. Apart from pedestrians, you will also come across cops that will chase you and try to capture you.
There's a lot of fun to have with this game as it is very addictive due to the unique concept of slapping passersby and making a run for it. The game also offers a handy set of features that makes things interesting and allows you to get more coins that you can use to upgrade your runner or slapper.
So in this article, we'll be giving you a brief beginner's guide to Slap and Run to help you become familiar with the game's basic features and things to expect as you play. So without further ado, let's dive into it.
The gameplay is itself unique and interesting. There's nothing to it than running and slapping pedestrians, but at the same time, there's an addictive feel to it that'll keep you glued to your screen for hours on end.
After you've kicked off your run and have slapped a couple of pedestrians, they'll start to chase after you once they realize what has happened. However, their chances of catching you are rather slim as boosters and traps are placed around each level to give you an edge over your pursuers.
Some of these boosters include a speed lane that'll see you increase speed, a green-colored spot that's placed on the floor that walked on, will trigger a giant punchy arm that will hit anyone behind you, which in this case, the pedestrians chasing after you.
However, this trap doesn't always affect them because sometimes you come across it even before the people you slapped have started chasing after you. But rest assured, you'll encounter these traps about 2-3 times in a single run, and you will get to use at least one of them unless you decide not to use it.
Your runner also has a cool ability that makes his feet catch on fire and gives him a massive speed boost for a short time. This speed boost can only be triggered by slapping pedestrians in combo style. The more you slap, the more the fire boost bar increases, and if you don't slap any pedestrians for a couple of seconds, the bar will gradually decrease.
There's no actual shop in this game where you can go and purchase items, which is a good thing. And the game only uses the gold currency, which you can get after every successful run or by watching ads. So you can only upgrade your items in the game using the coins you get.
Additionally, there's not much that can be upgraded either. It would help if you upgraded your runner's kick level, acceleration, and each run's gold earnings.
This is a unique feature in the game that is used at the end of your run to determine your final distance. At the end of every run, you'll come across a single pedestrian who you won't slap but hit with a massive two feet flying kick that'll see him soaring the air and landing on a score count which can be from 1 – an unknown score. The highest score I got was 13.9.
You can reach an even higher score by upgrading the kick with your gold coins. But the higher you upgrade, the more expensive it becomes, and you'll eventually run out of gold coins. But once upgraded to a considerable level, the kick is one of the best things about the game.
Additionally, to get the best out of the kick, you should aim to use it along with the blazing feet ability because with an increased speed, especially with the blazing feet ability, your runner has a massive increase in speed. Using the kick could send the pedestrian very far and increase your chances of getting loads of coins afterward.
This is also an important part of the game because your acceleration is what gives you the first edge against the pedestrians, and you'd be surprised how fast some of them can be when chasing you. So you'd want to earn enough coins to upgrade your runner's acceleration.
You can also upgrade the acceleration by watching ads, which can save you from spending your coins. Some traps can save you from the pedestrians chasing you. While the acceleration upgrade isn't as important as the kick, it is worth upgrading as well.
This is the third upgradable item in the game's menu, and you must also upgrade this. It is not always easy to get coins from the game, and even after completing a stage, you'll be asked to watch Ads to double the coins you made.
Some players will prefer to watch ads and double their coins, but if you dislike ads, you can use the coins you've made so far and upgrade the Earnings from the menu screen, which will see you earn more coins after every run.
This is especially important when playing the game's bonus level because you'll have the opportunity to gather tons of coins and dozens of pedestrians, which will see you get a handsome reward after the run. You'll get even more rewards if you've upgraded the Earnings at this point.
That's it from us on the beginner's guide to Slap and Run. There's not much attached to the game, but you can bet it's going to have you smiling and clicking the Play button over and over again.
