Space Leaper Cocoon - Basic Game Mechanics You Need to Know

Leapers Classes

In a normal battle setting in this game, your squad will consist of a total of 8 different Leapers with 5 different classes: Fighter, Tank, Assassin, Hunter and Mage.

Fighters specialize in up-close and personal combat and are for the main part, the main DPS of the game, so it is recommended that you have at least 1-2 Fighters in a squad.

Tanks are essentially the Leaper that will absorb the most amount of damage from enemies and supports the entire team with buffs to sustain their survivability. Bring at least 1 Tank in a squad, and if the stage is too hard, bring 2 to ensure the team’s survival.

Assassins specialize in movement speed and going around the enemy’s team and attacking them from behind. They are a good way to deal with Tanks and it is recommended to have at least 1 Assassin for emergency usage and to disrupt the enemy’s team.

Hunters are capable of long ranged attacks and are highly valuable in the battlefield as supporting dps and even main dps. Bring at least 2 Hunters in every squad to ensure that you have enough DPS to finish fights quickly.

Mages are the same as Hunters but deal Magic damage in addition to providing the team with useful buffs. Brings at least 2 Mages to battle as they will help quicken your battle pace and your DPS output.

Elements

Elements play an important role in the game as all Leapers and Enemies are assigned different elements and advantageous elements provide advantages when faced against the weaker ones.

For PvE, it is recommended to build a 1 to 2 elements team in order to clear stages more effectively with specialized elements.

For PvP, it is recommended that players mix the team with different elements in order to lessen the possibility of the enemy’s team having advantageous elements that may wipe the entire team.

PvE and PvP

Space Leaper Cocoon allows players access to both PvE and PvP contents, with PvE comes in the form of the Astral Map, the main story and farming nodes of the game, and PvP comes in the form of Analog Campaign, the Arena of the game.

For Astral Map, be sure to advance in the story in order to unlock new stages for farming purposes and to gain gacha currencies to roll for new Leapers.

For Analog Campaign, it is recommended that players build up their team properly first and test the teams first before attempting to go for high ranks in the PvP mode.

Upgradables and Character Upgrades

Players should also focus their resources on upgrading their characters and the game’s unique buffing mechanic: Cloud System

In addition to the usual gachas upgrading mechanics such as leveling, weapons upgrade, skills upgrade and elements upgrade, Space Leaper Cocoon also has a special Cloud System upgrades system.

In order to upgrade the Cloud System, you have to spend the corresponding Class and Elements Currencies gained from upgrading characters and these buffs provide class-based and element specific buffs for All Leapers, allowing the entire team’s power to be beefed up.

Late Game Contents

Some of the harder and mid to late game content for Space Leaper Cocoon consists of the Resource Tower and Neutron Star.

Resource Tower is essentially the farming nodes for upgradables in Space Leaper Cocoon and you will spend a lot of time farming these stages using Auto Farm. In addition, the higher the stage’s level the more difficult it will become so you will need to upgrade your team before attempting to clear higher difficulties.

Neutron Star essentially serves as the game’s current hard content, with an auto generated map that requires players to clear different nodes in order to defeat the final boss. It is important to note that the team’s HP won’t recover after each battle like normal unless they reach a Healing Station, so it is important to build a fully equipped team and manage your resources carefully in order to clear Neutron Star stages.

What Should New Players Focus on First?

For new players, focus on building a suitable team and clearing the main story

Like most gachas, the meta and tier lists aren’t as important as individual players’ experiences with the characters and the game’s mechanics, so new players need to try experimenting with different types of Leapers and find the ones that you enjoy playing the most.

Clear the story first and learn the game’s mechanics, earn gacha currencies and roll for newer Leapers to try out. Once you have built a team that you are comfortable with, you can move on to other more mid-game heavies like PvP and the Resource Tower.

Invest resources in characters that you know you will enjoy using and spend your gacha currencies wisely, as per gacha games’ usual, newer characters will most likely quickly outclasses and be more powerful than older ones, so you will want to have gacha currencies for the eventual new banners and characters in the future.
