Purification of the Heart From Despicable Nature
- Cleanse the Heart: First, it should cleanse the heart from all acts of cheating, dirty, hate, envy, bad faith and bad character (character); this is done to improve in receiving knowledge, guarding it and reviewing its meanings in detail and its vague essence.
- Position of Knowledge: Because as stated by some scholars that knowledge is hidden prayer, heart worship and inner closeness.
- Requirements to Gain Knowledge: As it is not justified (invalid) to pray which is the worship of a real limb except for physical purity from hadats and uncleanness, so it is the same with knowledge, which is a worship of the heart, so it is not permissible to gain it except in a state of purity from bad qualities, bad and despicable morals.
- The Blessing of Knowledge Because of a Good Heart: If the heart is good in receiving knowledge, then the blessing of that knowledge and its development can be seen, like fertile soil for farming, then the plants will grow and develop.
In a hadith it reads: "Verily, in the body there is a lump of flesh. If he is good, then the whole body is good too. If he is damaged, then the whole body is damaged. Know that it is the heart (heart).”
- Obstruction of Light Entering the Heart : Sahl said: "it is forbidden for the heart to enter light while in it there are things that Allah hates 'Azza wa Jalla."
