Atas Nama Kehormatan Description
This Android application is an Explanation About the Intention of Honor By Mukhtar Mai. In PDF format.
An inspirational and moving memoir about one woman's struggle to overcome the toughest odds
MuKHTAR MAI is a poor thirty-two year old Pakistani farmer woman. He lives in Meerwala, a small village in the southern part of Punjab close to the Indian border.
When journalists reported that she had been sentenced by her village's adat council to mass rape, the horrific story made headlines around the world. Even though Mukhtar Mai was illiterate and looked weak, she was a brave woman. She became the first woman in her country to win back her honor by striking back at a barbaric tradition that had nearly destroyed her.
I and my colleagues made the grueling journey to the remote village of Meerwala. There we got a warm welcome from Mukhtar Mai and his friend, Naseem Akhtar. They were very impressed by our coming all the way from France to offer cooperation to Mukhtar Mai in writing a book, namely a book that would contribute to his cause.
After discussing for several hours, we finally agreed that the book would be published in France, and he himself would come to France to launch the book.
