Two Classifications and Two Methods of Unclean Purification
Thaharah from uncleanness or purification from uncleanness is thaharah in essence, where the ritual is to purify the body, clothes and place of prayer from uncleanness. Because what is actually being done is intrinsic or physical cleaning, bearing in mind that uncleanness is actually a physical object and not a law.
In general, the way to purify from uncleanness can be classified into at least two ways: (1) a ritualistic way and (2) a logical way.
The purpose of the ritualistic method is that besides what is intended is the removal of impurity from sacred objects, but also the method must be in accordance with what is explained by sharia. Like the way to purify a dog's saliva according to the jumhur school, namely by washing it seven times, one of which is with earth.
While the logical method of purification is by purifying the unclean until the three indicators of impurity (color, aroma and taste) of the object disappear with a logical assessment.
As for purified objects, in general they can also be classified into two types: objects that are originally unclean (najasah al-'ain) and objects that are originally pure and then become unclean (mutanajjis).
