Classic Chess offers more than just a game:
Multiple Difficulty Levels: Whether you're a beginner taking your first steps or a seasoned player seeking a challenge, Classic Chess has the perfect AI opponent for you.
The Leader: The King
Movement: One square in any direction.
Role: The heart of your army. The game ends if the king is checkmated (directly threatened with capture). Protect your king at all costs!
The Strategist: The Queen
Movement: Any number of squares horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
Role: The most powerful piece. The queen combines the mobility of the rook and bishop, making her a versatile force on the board. Use her to control key squares, launch attacks, and exploit weaknesses.
The Defenders: The Rooks and Knights
Rook Movement: Any number of squares horizontally or vertically.
Rook Role: Rooks excel at controlling open files (columns) and rank (rows). They are powerful attackers, especially when working together in a coordinated assault.
Knight Movement: An "L" shape - two squares in a straight line, then one square perpendicular to that direction.
Knight Role: Knights are unique pieces that can jump over other pieces. They excel in attacking isolated enemy pieces and navigating crowded boards.
The Mob: The Pawns
Movement: One square forward (two squares on the pawn's first move). Pawns capture diagonally one square forward.
Role: Pawns are the foot soldiers of the chess army. While seemingly weak, they can be surprisingly powerful. Use pawns to control territory, create advanced passed pawns (pawns with no enemy pawns in front of them), and ultimately promote them into more powerful pieces upon reaching the other side of the board.
