For compatible navigators, the Garmin Drive app provides real-time information for traffic, parking, advanced weather, and photoLive traffic cameras, in addition to the ability to send and receive calls, texts, and notifications from your Bluetooth-enabled mobile device.

For compatible dash cams, the Garmin Drive app provides quick access to camera controls, settings, and recorded footage. Up to four dash cams can be wirelessly connected with the Dash Cam Auto Sync feature to provide comprehensive coverage around a vehicle, offering various viewpoints recorded by the multiple cameras. The Garmin Drive app can create a “picture-in-picture” video from any two perspectives at the same time, making it easy to review video and also share videos with friends, insurance agencies, or legal authorities.

Garmin Speak™ with Amazon Alexa brings what you love about Amazon Alexa to your vehicle. Just ask Alexa to hear music, news, and more. Also, enjoy Garmin turn-by-turn navigation. Stream the audio (music and other responses) from your vehicle’s stereo when you connect Garmin Speak to your stereo using Bluetooth® or AUX.

Older Bluetooth-capable Garmin navigators are compatible with the Garmin Smartphone Link app, and older Wi-Fi-enabled Garmin dash cams can access video footage through the Garmin VIRB app.

Comments about Garmin Drive™ Android Version

The app is absolutely useless now. It won't let me send addresses from the app to my Garmin anymore. I've made sure that it's updated, cleared the cache and the data multiple times. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled many times to get it to work and it doesn't. Tried to contact Garmin and all they ask for you do is send your data logs. No solution aside from the ones I presented above, and no response after you give them what they ask for. Again absolutely useless app now.

Horrible app and support. Did some digging around and it seems like the developers don't update it on a regular basis with each new Android version. People complained the app didn't work after the Android 13 update for almost a year until it was finally fixed, now with Android 14 it seems to be broken again. I spent way longer trying to get it to connect to my pixel 6 pro running android 14 with no luck, effectively limiting my Garmin GPS with the drive app pointless.

There's an issue with "NearBy devices" and the Google Pixel that prevents the camera and drive app from automatically connecting to the DashCam Mini 2. For this reason, you can't do updates, watch the live feed, or download videos directly from the camera and it's extremely frustrating I have to use my Samsung tablet. When researching the issue nearly everyone I've seen have it has a pixel phone.
