Wali Band is a local creative pop music group from Ciputat, South Tangerang which was formed on October 31, 1999 under the name Fierra. The band's personnel originally consisted of Faank (vocals), Apoy (guitar), Tomi (drums), Ovie (keyboardist), and ex Nunu (bass).
All of the band's personnel are graduates of Islamic boarding schools and some are alumni of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Previously, the guitarist, Apoy had been the additional guitar of the music group Neutral on the album Oke Deh (2001).
Their first album was Orang Bilang, which was released in 2008. The band is generally of a totally creative local pop genre with a touch of Malay rhythm in their songs. The hit songs on this album are Dik and Egokah Aku, who use Shireen Sungkar as a video clip model. The song Dik, which is a mainstay by incorporating love pop elements, was recorded as having succeeded in becoming an RBT (ring back tone) for 1 million cell phone owners by mid-May 2008. This became a barometer of the success of the group which consisted of 5 men.
