- Surah Al-Baqarah is a Medinan surah, which was revealed in various periods, and it is the first surah that was revealed in Medina, except for the words of God Almighty: “And fear a day in which you will be returned to God. Then every soul will be paid in full what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.” It is the last verse that descended from heaven during the Farewell Pilgrimage, as well as the verses on usury.
- Among the predecessors were those who called it Fustat al-Qur’an. Because of its greatness, status, and the abundance of rulings and sermons it contains, it is one of the longest surahs of the Holy Qur’an. The number of its verses is 286, and it contains the longest verse in the Holy Qur’an, which is the verse known as the Verse of Religion, which is the saying of God Almighty: “O you who have believed, when you contract a debt for a specified period, write it down...”

4- Surat Al-Baqarah protects homes from the evil of devils, as they flee from the place where this noble Surah is recited and never enter it.
5- The last two verses of Surat Al-Baqarah have many virtues and blessings, and they protect the one who recites them from all evil if he recites them every night.
6- Daily reading of Surat Al-Baqarah makes a person always in God’s protection and care, immune from the evil of mankind and jinn.
