He was born in the year 148 AH (765 AD) in the city of Medina in the Hijaz. He lived his life under the Abbasid caliphs and had a complex relationship with them. It was transferred to Khorasan by order of the Abbasid Caliph Harun al-Rashid. He died in the year 818 AD in the city of Tus. It is celebrated and considered a center of visitation. His shrine became a shrine visited by millions from different countries.
