DACF Support App Description
The DACF (District Assemblies Common Fund) Support App collects direct feedback from Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Ghana in relation to the 3% provision that is made in the DACF to support PWDs, especially those outside the formal sector.
In 2006, Ghana passed the Persons with Disability Act, (Act 715), to protect and support people living with disabilities such as visual, hearing, physical speech, emotional, and intellectual impairments. New guidelines for the DACF were issued by the government of Ghana in 2009. These included the guideline that 3% of the DACF should be used to provide social protection for PWDs, especially those within the informal sector.
How effectively is this being done from the viewpoint of PWDs? This is what the DACF Support App seeks to determine by providing direct feedback in this pilot survey in 10 districts in Ghana. This direct feedback is expected to help evaluate the effectiveness of the DACF Support for PWDs to strengthen policy.
