Darah Istihadhah Description
This Android application is an explanation of the meaning of the blood of istihadhah by Isnawati, Lc., MA. In PDF format.
Istihadhah Blood
It's not forever when a woman bleeds having her period, because when a woman reaches puberty she will go through two periods, the menstrual period and the holy period.
Menstruation period and holy period have maximum and minimum limits. When menstruation has passed the maximum limit, the blood that comes out will no longer have the status of menstrual blood. Likewise, when a woman bleeds before fulfilling the minimum requirements for purity, the blood that comes out cannot be said to be menstruation.
Between menstruation and the next menstruation, all scholars agree that it must be paused with a perfect holy period, and the minimum holy period according to the madhhab of the majority of scholars is 15 days, and according to the Hambali school of thought, 13 days.
So, for example, a woman who has just been pure from her period for less than 15 days then bleeds again, the blood that comes out is not yet categorized as menstrual blood, because the blood that comes out has already entered the sacred period for a woman.
The blood that comes out during this holy period is called istihadhah blood. The status of women who experience istihadhah is also judged as a pure woman.
Seeing that there is a lot of confusion among Muslim women to distinguish between menstrual blood and istihadhah blood, some even do not know this blood at all, the author feels it is important regarding istihadhah blood, and its legal consequences, as well as what is required and permissible for women who are experiencing istihadhah.
