Early Choices Decision Trees Description
This free app provides local education agencies (LEAs) in Illinois* a tool that saves time and improves accuracy at Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings to determine Preschool Environments Codes* and/or Early Childhood Outcomes Ratings*. This app follows the format of paper decision trees but combines both indicators into one app for ease and functionality. Additionally, it assure data is being reported accurately, is convenient (no rummaging for paper trees), is accessible across devices (tablet, phone or computer), is user friendly and generates PDFs of results (printable).
Within the app, the user is able to choose between Preschool Environments and Early Childhood Outcomes.
-Preschool Environments portion guides the user through the Decision Tree for Coding Preschool Environments for Children ages 3-5 Served Under IDEA to arrive at an accurate code
- Early Childhood Outcomes provides two options for the user: complete the Child Outcomes Summary Form and/or generate Early Childhood Outcomes ratings only.
*Indicator 6: Preschool Environments data:
Preschool Environment data is meant to define where a child with an IEP receives their special education supports and services.
*Indicator 7: Early Childhood Outcomes:
The three Early Childhood Outcomes are used to help measure the impact early childhood intervention has on a child’s ability to have positive social relationships, acquire and use knowledge and skills and take appropriate action to meet their needs.
*This app is Illinois-specific.
