Balasangaya's Ankita Apramanadeva Kudalasangamadeva. He was a great scholar and an incomparable scholar. He may have been earlier than Siddhalinga of Tonta, an important orator of the post-Basavot era, but no details have been found about his life. Sakalagama Shikhamani is the name of Apramanadeva's work, in which a total of 920 vachanas of Apramana Kudala Sangamdeva Ankita are compiled. It is a purely philosophical work. Its ultimate objective is to systematically promote the Lingayat doctrines mentioned by the Chennabasists. Topics ranging from creation to gender harmony are covered here under many subheadings. These vachanas attest that Apramanadeva was a great scholar, a great practitioner. Its ultimate goal is a pure philosophical literature on Lingayat philosophy. He has given Sanskrit paramana sentences for every thing he says, thus he has liberally raised words to justify his views from Veda Agama Upanishad Praman Samhita Srti Smriti Sukta etc. There are many verses on Anubhava and Bedagnu.
