Malayalam Text to Speech by He Description
This App contains Malayalam male voice database for Hear2Read Indic Text To Speech (TTS) App.
Please install this after installing Indic Hear2Read Text To Speech App to read Malayalam text using the TTS App. Once installed, the TTS App learns about it, next time the TTS App is used. The TTS App makes a copy of the voice database for generating synthetic speech.
If the voice App is deleted, it is also deleted from the list of voices available to Indic TTS App.
This is the first release of Malayalam Hear2Read voice App. The Beta testers have given us feedback on the following that need to be improved:
- Pronunciation of some letters such as TA and TI is soft which makes it difficult to understand. Generally listeners are able to understand the word within the context of the sentence being spoke.
- Number from 901 to 999 are not spoken correctly. This includes higher numbers that end in 9xx, such 1998.
Please send an e-mail to feedback@Hear2Read.org with any other incorrect or difficult to understand pronunciations that you come across. Please do not post it as a review comment since developers (that is us - Hear2Read volunteers) are limited in responses to reviews.
At this time Hear2Read does not speak letters as they being typed using a Malayalam keyboard. It speaks complete words after the user has typed a space denoting end of the word.
Hear2Read converts text to speech by understanding text only. It does not understand the meaning of the sentence. As such the end of sentence modulation is missing and the speech is passive or flat without proper intonation.
