Pasang Surut Mazhab TanahHaram Description
This Android application is an Explanation About the Ups and Downs of Schools in the Haram Land by Ahmad Sarwat, Lc. MA. In PDF format.
The journey of fiqh science with each of its schools is very dynamic. Come and go alternately along with the times.
If we look back, at first the number of schools of fiqh were not just the four as they are today, but many more.
A. Thirteen Schools
I noted that there were at least 13 schools of thought that once existed, but not all of them have survived to this day. If sorted the 13 schools are:
1. Al-Hasan Al-Bashri 21- 110 in Kufa
2. Abu Hanifah 80-150 in Kufa
3. Al-Auza'i ... - 157 in Syria
4. Sufyan Ats-Tsauri 97 - 161 in Kufa
5.Al-Laits bin Sa'ad 94-175 in Egypt
6. Malik bin Arias 93-197 in Medina
7. Sufyan bin Uyainah 107-198 in Mecca
8. Ash-Shafi'i 150 - 204 in Baghdad and Egypt
9. Ishaq bin Rahawaih 161-238 in Naisabur
10. Ahmad bin Hanbal 164-241 in Baghdad
11. Abu Thaur ... - 246 in Baghdad
12. Daud Azh-Zhahiri 255-297 in Baghdad
13. Ibn Jarir Ath-Tabari 224 - 310 in Baghdad
However, all experience unique dynamics. Sometimes it exists and grows in a certain place in an era, when changing times the schools recede and move to other areas.
In that place, other sects came and even grew big there. And that's the dynamics.
