The book in the hands of this reader is the second edition of my book which was originally my dissertation which I defended on May 3, 2008 at the Postgraduate School of the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta. I would like to thank the readers who have been willing to take advantage of the first edition of my book that allows this book to be printed for the second edition.
As in the first edition, in publishing this second edition I also express my deepest gratitude to Prof. Dr. Abuddin Nata, M.A. and Prof. Dr. Suwito, MA., Professor at the Postgraduate School of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, who agreed to read and correct the initial draft of this book, even agreed to become a discussion partner so that the research focus becomes sharper and the mapping of data on themes becomes more organized.
I also convey the same appreciation to Prof. Fauzan Saleh, MA., Ph. D., Professor of STAIN Kediri and Prof. Ratno Lukito, MA., Ph. D., Professor of the Syari`ah Faculty of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogjakarta who deigned to read and provide criticism of the early drafts of this book, making it easier for me to validate the data.
