Vögel in Österreich Description
BirdLife Austria is a partner of BirdLife International, the world's largest active network of nature and bird protection organizations and the only nationwide active ornithological association. This app comprehensively describes the bird world of Austria. All breeding birds, all winter guests and all common migrants are included.
An outstanding, unique feature of this app are the identification boards, which were specially made for the birds of Austria, and which show the various subspecies occurring in Austria and other different plumage. Each panel shows all the important morphologically different plumage, essential identification features and characteristics to distinguish it from other species. The panels are supplemented by extensive text information including information on taxonomy, frequency and size, as well as detailed information on appearance, identification, possibilities of confusion, ecology, song, clutches and behaviour. Functions for manual determination, the display of similar species, a comparison function, European distribution maps and the option of creating your own maps and sighting lists are also part of the free basic version.
However, you can exploit the full potential of the app with the optional expansion functions:
Using artificial intelligence, the respective species can be automatically identified both acoustically and by their appearance on the basis of bird calls and bird pictures.
You will also get 862 bird songs as well as videos of all species included in the app. With the 3D birds you can view the respective species from all sides and simulate them life-size in the environment using augmented reality. With the extension you also get pictures of the eggs of all included bird species as well as distribution maps specially made for Austria.
