We loved the Maui version so we were excited to try Kauai. The experience was disappointing. We are pretty tech savvy and still had issues figuring out how and where to start and restart the tours, especially if we weren't driving the specific direction the tour was heading. If we didn't go under the speed limit we missed turns and spent a lot of time doing u-turns on busy roads. We paid for the full package but were so frustrated I don't even know that we finished 1 whole tour.
The volumel is all over the place. The music is crazy loud then the narrator volume varies from POI to POI. Would NOT buy again. The navigator is informative but often gives turn directions as you pass the turn. ETA email for technical assistance and confirmed we were set up properly. They did find the multi volume issue in their code and are fixing it. They're customer service is great! The narrator is wonderful!
It's a good tour, certainly better than nothing. It's a little hokey, but what do you expect? There was one thing that was no longer there, a little stream and waterfall that had obviously dried up, and the parking was treacherous. Sometimes the navigation instructions came a bit too late; I missed a few turns. But in general it was easy to follow. Check the weather up in the mountains before you go. Everything was good for us until we got to the top and we couldn't see the Napali coast.
