The app used to show 24 hour forecasts for free but it was changed recently to only show 3 hours. For 24 hour forecast you have to pay a monthly subscription now. Uninstalled for this reason. Such a shame because the app has some really good features and is super simple to use. I would gladly pay for this if it offered a one-time payment option instead of a subscription.
This app pulled back its forecast data. During the summer of 2022, I used it often and was able to forecast an entire 24 hours as a free user. The features included with the subscription were great bonuses, so I paid the only option then; 24 hr to 7 day forcasts, with more wind data available. I ended my subscription in the winter. I opened it for the first time this spring, 2023, and find its core free features of 2022 locked behind a paywall. I can no longer support the developer.
$60+ per year? It makes the exact same API call regardless of the payment tier except the free version simply doesn't show all the data received! These are all artificial programmatic limitations, just like restricting the number of favorites, the length of the forecast, etc. None of these cost anything for the developer on a monthly basis. The only valid charge is for the API call but that's still only pennies per month, even with a 1000% markup.
