Champions, commonly known as heroes, come in a few rarities and classes. The common rarity group includes policemen and thugs. When leveling up, if you have other heroes, you should avoid using them as they have the lowest stats and low-power skills. Since the game does not have a hero reset option, the resources you spend to level them up will be a waste. Then, you have 3-star characters, 4-star characters, and 5-star legendary and mythic rarity characters.
When leveling, always try to choose heroes above 4 stars. They will be on your teams for a long time and also have synergy and tags between them, so you can make a team out of them to easily get those extra buffs. When leveling up, you will meet level caps for each hero. To break the level cap, you need to produce the required materials in your base and use them for the level break.
In addition to the level restrictions, you will also be limited in leveling heroes according to their star count. You have to collect hero shards from summons, events, and missions. When you have enough shards, you can do a star up and unlock 20 more levels. This will continue until you reach the max level of your heroes.
When you get to level 21 for each hero, you will unlock their skill tree. These skills are different from the captain skills and provide your heroes with additional boosts to stats like defense, HP, and attack. Make sure to start unlocking these skills as soon as your heroes reach level 21.
In addition to leveling up, you can enhance the effectiveness of your heroes by gearing them up. During the early stages of DC Dark Legion, you can acquire gear by cleaning hideouts. Once you unlock crafting in your base, you can begin crafting your own gear. There are various rarities of gears and gear sets.
In the initial levels of the crafting base, you can only create the lowest rarity of gear. However, as you level up the crafting part of the base, you increase the chances of crafting higher rarity gear. Higher rarity gear comes with sets to which they belong. When you equip your heroes with pieces from these sets, special buffs activate, providing your heroes with more power. It's beneficial to mix and match these set bonuses as needed to optimize your hero's capabilities. This strategic approach to gearing can significantly enhance your heroes' overall performance.
When assembling teams with heroes, it's crucial to consider their class. There are a few distinct classes, such as Damage, Defender, Support, and Assault. Defenders excel in withstanding a substantial amount of damage compared to other classes. Therefore, when deploying characters on the battleground, position Defenders at the frontline to absorb incoming damage effectively.
Support characters play a vital role, possessing healing abilities, shield capabilities, and buffs that contribute to your team's success and longevity in battles. Support abilities vary from character to character, so it's advisable to always include a healer-type support character in your team to bolster your team's survivability.
Assault, akin to assassins, specialize in infiltrating the back row of the enemy formation, targeting high-value opponents. They prove exceptionally valuable when confronting teams with support characters. Lastly, your common damage dealer falls into the Damage class. Adhering to the philosophy that the best defense is a good offense, prioritize employing powerful damage characters to shorten combat duration.
By strategically aligning heroes based on their classes and roles, you can optimize your team's synergy and effectiveness in various combat scenarios.
The primary method of acquiring heroes is through the Mother Box, a feature located in your base. The summoning system is uniquely designed, involving various keys or cubes that, when drawn, grant you additional summons. There are different rarities of cubes, with the lowest quality having a chance to summon a 2-star or lower hero. The cubes above it progressively increase the summon chance to higher rarity characters. Each time you use a cube, it contributes to another counter. When this counter is filled, you can obtain free high-level cubes, allowing for more summons.
In addition to receiving full heroes, you'll also acquire character shards from these summons. Once you gather enough shards, you can unlock heroes from the hero list. Beyond this method, there are a few more ways to obtain heroes, which we'll explore.
If you're seeking more resources, unlocking new characters, and obtaining free summons, events play a pivotal role. Currently, there are four events in the game:
Path of Justice: Designed for beginners, this event encourages new players by setting daily goals. Activities include logging in, collecting resources from your base, and destroying hideouts, with rewards including upgrade materials, Mother Box cubes, and the opportunity to unlock Green Lantern.
Dark Legion Hunter: To reap rewards from this event, you need to defeat the Dark Legion 100 times. For every 10 Dark Legion you defeat, you can earn alloyed high rarity Mother Box cubes.
Royal Ranking: This event challenges you to increase your combat power. As your power rises, you can collect Wayne chips, character shards, and, upon completion, unlock the hero Black Adam.
Explore Cities: This event requires you to fully clean cities. Completing all tasks in one city earns stars, contributing to the event's progress bar. Every two stars collected allow you to obtain Cyborg shards, Mother Box cubes, cash, and chips. If you aim to add Cyborg to your team, ensure you clean all cities to 100%.
By participating in these events strategically, you can not only enhance your hero roster but also accumulate valuable resources to strengthen your overall gameplay experience.
You'll notice the Bat Signal quest icon above the task section in the game. The Bat Signal missions provide assignments organized into chapters. Completing each chapter assignment rewards you with experience points and cash. Additionally, for each cleared chapter, you can obtain hero shards and Mother Box cubes.
As you delve into the missions associated with each chapter, not only do you advance your character's growth through experience and monetary rewards, but you also contribute towards unlocking iconic heroes like Flash and Aquaman. This adds an exciting dimension to your gameplay, making the Bat Signal missions a crucial avenue for both progression and expanding your roster of formidable heroes.
Once you unlock the league feature, it's advisable to join one promptly. Similar to guild options in other games, leagues in DC Dark Legion offer various benefits. One notable advantage is the support you can receive from fellow league members, which helps to shorten building times within the game.
Moreover, being part of a league enables you to participate in league tasks, earning valuable league tokens in the process. These tokens can be spent in the league store to acquire rare characters like Joker and Armor, along with rare Mother Box cubes. Joining a league, being active, and collaborating with league members provide additional resources that can significantly enhance your team's power.
By actively engaging with your league, you not only strengthen your own gameplay experience but also contribute to the collective progress of your league. It's a collaborative effort that brings about mutual benefits, fostering a sense of community within the DC Dark Legion universe.
In other games, you might have encountered a game mechanic where including characters of the same faction or those with shared backstories grants additional boosts to their stats or buffs when they're part of the same team. Similar to this mechanic, DC Dark Legion introduces a character synergy system that activates when you utilize all the characters within a synergy group in a single match.
For instance, consider Wonder Woman and Mera. When Mera heals Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman gains a shield. Furthermore, by incorporating three characters from the Justice League into your team, you unlock the Justice League synergy buff. This synergy system opens up a realm of possibilities for strategic gameplay.
To explore these synergies, experiment with different character combinations during the formation stage of combat. If a synergy buff is activated, you'll see it displayed at the lower right side of the screen. This feature not only adds depth to team composition but also rewards players who strategically integrate characters with shared affiliations or connections, making battles more dynamic and your heroes more formidable when united in purpose. Keep an eye out for these synergies to maximize the potential of your team in DC Dark Legion.
Leveling up your characters is paramount in the game. As characters level up, they not only receive base stat increases but also unlock different abilities. When you designate a character as the captain, you gain access to additional skills, located next to the character. Similar to ultimate skills, these captain skills have cooldowns.
Before using a skill, long-press it to view a description of its effects. Choose the skill that best suits the situation to maximize the benefits derived from these captain skills. By strategically employing captain skills, you enhance your tactical approach during battles, making your team more versatile and adaptable to various challenges of DC Dark Legion.
In addition to captain skills, you have the ability to maneuver your captain to evade incoming attacks. However, this is not possible in autoplay mode. If you're facing less formidable enemies, you may not need to worry much about moving the captain; you can use 2x speed to swiftly clear encounters. Nevertheless, some battles feature opponents whose attacks can inflict substantial damage or debuff your characters. In such instances, it becomes crucial to switch to manual controls.
By doing so, you can actively maneuver your captain to avoid incoming attacks. This not only preserves the health of your units but also allows your healer to allocate energy towards healing other team members. Understanding when to utilize manual controls adds another layer of strategic depth to your gameplay, ensuring that you navigate battles effectively and emerge victorious in more challenging DC Dark Legion encounters.
In DC Dark Legion, the world map serves as your exploration hub, offering a comprehensive view of different regions waiting to be explored. Divided into various sections, each region on the map presents specific objectives you can undertake. The overview provides a glimpse of the activities available in each area. When you decide on an area to explore, you are taken to a closer camera angle where you have control over your characters.
In this detailed view, you can identify resources to gather, buildings to raid, and encounters with patrols. While some players may choose to avoid patrols for the thrill of sneaking around the map, it's advisable, especially in the early stages, not to do so. Skipping patrols might provide a sense of stealth, but it also means missing out on the extra resources they offer. Clearing everything not only contributes to a more immersive experience but also ensures a passive income that proves valuable for leveling your characters.
During the initial stages of DC Dark Legion, when production facilities might not yield as many resources as needed for upgrades, this passive income from exploring the world map becomes particularly beneficial. Embracing all the opportunities the world map presents ensures a steady flow of resources, setting a solid foundation for the growth and progression of your team in DC Dark Legion.
Mastering the intricacies of DC Dark Legion requires a strategic approach to champion selection, gear crafting, team composition, and exploration. By following these tips and tricks, you'll navigate the DC Dark Legion Universe with finesse, building a formidable team and conquering the challenges that lie ahead.
