Let’s play Epic Seven on PC and find out together.
The December Heroes Balance Patch will be applied from the 22nd of December 2022 and is divided into 3 different sections: Heroes with mechanics changes, Moonlight 5* Heroes Balance Changes and Normal 5* Heroes Balance Changes.
With the Heroes Balance Changes, instead of buffing the mechanics of the individual heroes affected by the effect of this specific mechanics, Epic Seven have opted to change the whole mechanic in order to balance the effect of these heroes, resulting an overall buff to their performance in both PvE and PvP contents, not changing how they work as a whole but making them more reliable at what they do.
The mechanic in question is “successful hit will always result in a critical hit” which previously just increased the critical chance of the move by 100%, making it susceptible to buffs that decrease critical hit by 50%, making the move not hit properly. Now with the change, these moves will always result in a critical hit no matter the buff the enemy has on them, improving the hero's damage potential.
Some of the Heroes affected by this mechanics change includes: Martial Artist Ken, Yuna, Charlotte, Schuri and others.
For the Moonlight Heroes, there’s only real changes to 3 meta characters that will absolutely shake up the meta and gameplay of the players who have them in the next PvP season. The affected characters in question are : Dark Corvus, Briar Witch Iseria and Astromancer Elena.
- Dark Corvus: Of the 3 Moonlight Heroes, Dark Corvus has the least change on his kit. Dark Corvus skill 2 passive now prevents him from being stunned by the enemies, making it impossible for the opponent to prevent him from deleting the enemy’s heroes using his 3rd skill if they are not able to kill him in time. His 1st and 3rd skill also receive a slight buff in terms of chances to inflict the taunt debuff and decrease cooldown, making him easier to use to pick off the enemy team one by one faster.
- Briar Witch Iseria: ML Iseria received a very controversial buff that might prove to be a neft to the entire team instead depending on how players use her in the team. Iseria’s 1st and 3rd skills receive less substantial buffs as the attacks will now have their damage increase proportional to Iseria’s attack and inflict an additional damage instance if the attack hits successfully.
Iseria’s main buff comes in the form of her 2nd skill passive, which prevents EVERY Heroes on the field from being revived as long as she’s on the field, which might prove extremely detrimental to the team itself since it also affects the player’s team. Therefore, players need to consider when using Iseria in the new PvP season.
- Astromancer Elena: ML Elena receives the best buff possible for a recently released ML Hero in the game. ML Elena’s role in the team has always been to punish the enemy’s counterattacking heroes and buffing the team, now with the buff, she has become godly in this role.
Her kit buffed revolves around her 2nd and 3rd skill which grants her a unique buff named “Star’s Blessing” that completely prevents enemy’s counterattacks while it is in effect and she is granted the buff at the start of the fight right away, making it so that for the next 3 turns, enemies can’t counterattack at all as long as she’s alive. In addition, her 2nd skill’s buff condition has been changed so that as long as her allies attack all enemies, they will receive a massive 20% Combat readiness increase, helping to further your play, making ML Elena an absolute god in the new PvP.
Like the Moonlight Heroes, 3 Normal Covenant 5* Heroes will also receive changes to their kit, improving their viability and usability in the brand new PvP season coming up. These Heroes are: Sez, Yufine and Celine.
- Sez: Sez’s kit has always been lackluster due to his poor damage, however, with the new buff, his damage is increased in all fronts, possibly making him viable again to use in PvP. Sez’s 2nd skill now also prevents him from being 1 shot by enemy forces, allowing him to last long enough to his damage.
- Yufine: Yufine’s kit received a massive buff to her viability as her kit now allows her to increase her own combat readiness, allowing her to take turns faster and resets her 3rd skill CD if she is able to kill the enemy. Yufine’s 2nd skill now replaces the speed buff granted by a defense buff, allowing her to survive longer to help with her damage output.
- Celine: Celine’s kit doesn’t receive much buffing as her kit has always been powerful, however, with the buff, it makes it so that her attacks become even more powerful. Celine’s 2nd skill will now completely ignore elemental disadvantage, meaning she will now always hit the enemy even if the enemy is of elemental advantage. Her 3rd skill now also completely ignores damage sharing effects, dealing the maximum amount of damage to the enemy when the skill successfully hits.
With the final week of the aespa x Epic Seven collaboration coming to a head, the last member of the aespa squad will make her grand debut on Dec 22nd.
aespa-KARINA is a 5* Knight of the Ice Element that specializes in dealing massive amounts of damage to all enemies based on her defense stat.
aespa-KARINA’s 3rd skill deals massive amounts of damage to the enemy she targets, dealing damage proportional to her defense. In addition, if the hit is successful, the enemy team will also receive true damage proportional to her defense.
aespa-KARINA skill also prevents the enemies from dealing too much damage to the team, granting the entire team a 2 turns barrier and herself a 2 turns defense up buff, improving the team’s survivability and improving her own damage output.
Like other members of the aespa members, the answer is Yes, Absolutely. aespa-KARINA is extremely powerful and her kit is extremely unique, powerful and versatile enough to improve any player’s account by simply having her.
