Skylander Ring of Heroes is a Role-Playing game developed by the legendary developer Com2uS. The game features exciting, unique characters, each with their own quirks and talents. These characters are known as Skylanders and are summoned using a particular way wherein you can upgrade them and have them face off against each other in live PvP battles from players around the world.
Do not be fooled by the cute graphics; however, the game offers a lot of sophistication and demands a lot of skill and patience to be played properly at its highest level. Each Skylander has traits and skills that you should vary to effectively think of the most efficient way to play each one.
Summoning is perhaps one of the most expensive things you can do in Skylander Ring of Heroes. Summoning is solely based on fragments. When you summon, you start getting shards, which are pieces of a particular Skylander. After you get all the pieces, you can then summon the entire unit.
There are a few different ways you can summon Skylanders. You can summon with gems, summoning tickets, swap scrolls, and wish stones as well. Summoning can be quite fun but frustrating at the same time if you do not get the required results.
We recommend that you not get addicted to the thrill of constantly summoning and try to figure out if the current Skylanders you have are enough for a good composition as upgrading them with the same currency you use for summoning proves to be much more worthwhile. In essence, it is better to have 5 high-level units than 10 low-level ones.
Omni Gems are the primary currency for the game. They are used to exchange pieces of a Skylander but can only be done on those you have summoned. Currently, there are 5 rarities of Omni Gems in the game, they are:
⦁ Normal
⦁ Premium
⦁ Rare
⦁ Heroic
⦁ Legendary
They are compiled with the same rarity as a Skylander. So, each rarity provides you with a different number of pieces. You can also have omni gems for specific roles of a Skylander such as support, DPS, etc. You can get omni gems from the Mirage Tower, Guild Shop a Champions Chest, or when you win a Guild War.
We recommend that you save your Omni Gems as much as possible as they are quite hard to get and ease on their usage for at least the Rare Heroic and Legendary omni gems.
After you avoid the mistake of not instantly summoning a large portion of Skylanders, you should have a few resources left, which are best used by leveling. A red potion can be used to level the Skylanders, but they are way too expensive and are not an efficient way to currently level up.
One better way to level up your Skylanders is by completing scenarios. Do note that your spectator units, i.e., those you are not using, still gain XP from every fight! However, their XP gain is 50% lesser than your main Skylanders. Do note that the XP gain is going to be statically set every time. So, it does not matter how many Skylanders are in your composition.
The best way to level up Skylanders is through Mediating Woodlands. This method consumes a lot of energy but is the fastest way to level up. It does not provide you with Adventure Gold either so try not to make this your primary leveling method and mix it up with scenarios.
Villains are with you for the entire duration of the game. However, Villains can firstly be upgraded only through blue potions. The main advantage is that each Villain has one unique ability that does not cost any mana and a passive that dictates the Villain's life.
Generally, we recommend that you go for a Villain that heals, so something like Chompy Mage should do you good. If you want a Tank Villain, go for Gulper. Both are viable Villains but make sure you do not spam their abilities as they might end up dying quicker than you expect as their overall duration of life depends on how much you use their abilities.
If your Villain dies, there is an obvious summoning cooldown that you must wait out before you can bring them out again.
Arguably one of the best features of the game, the 10x Auto System, runs Labyrinth and Caves' entirety plus the Gold / Scenarios 10 times at a speed of x3 without you having to do anything. This feature is mainly added to make 3 starring stages much quicker. Here are the prerequisites and requirements you need to follow to 3-star at any stage:
⦁ Clear the stage and defeat every mob that comes along your path.
⦁ Make sure that none of your Skylanders die even once.
⦁ Clear the entire stage within a certain time frame.
After your 10 runs are completed at 3x speed, you will be given a brief run-down of the gold and resources you have accumulated throughout your run. Do note that unlike other games with an Auto-Battle system, Skylander Ring of Heroes does not present any negative implications on using the feature, and the AI System seems to be fairly robust.
Skylander Ring of Heroes is one of the best Strategy Role Playing games currently out on the market. Each Skylander is unique and fun to play with, while the Summoning mechanic is quite sophisticated and fun to use simultaneously.
The game features a lot of content and new areas you can explore and clear. But, for seasoned veterans, the 10x feature always exists. Trying to be careful with your resources and spending most of them on upgrading your Skylanders rather than summoning, especially in the early levels, can lead you to have quite a respectable head start in the game.
