Heroes War: Counterattack is a turn-based Action RPG game that follows the story of a deadly virus wiping out most of humanity with plans to eradicate the entire race. As the hero, you must recruit mercenaries, collect equipment, and upgrade their skills and abilities to defeat this lurking evil.
Heroes War: Counterattack features a massive number of unique mercenaries, with all of them having exceptional skills and abilities that differentiate them from one another. The game also features heavy skill-based combat alongside real-time PvP and PvE elements combined into one.
The ARPG has a gripping story but, most importantly, relies on getting an appropriate mix of mercenaries when you start the game as they help you progress much faster in the game.
Popo is disguised as a friendly raccoon that is arguably one of the best healers in the game. He can provide healing to your allies all day long as he is considered a supporter type unit.
Popo's first active skill is known as Surprise Magic Trick, which deals average damage to a specific enemy while also removing all beneficial effects from that enemy with an 80 percent success rate. This mercenary is useful when fighting against an enemy who is providing a lot of buffs to themselves. This provides Popo with a lot of utility.
Popo's second ability is known as the cheating clap. This ability lets him recover the HP of a random ally on his team by 26 percent of the total and removes them from all weakening effects. He can also use this spell on himself for three turns straight, which provides him with quite a tremendous amount of recovery.
The Third Active skill is known as lucky coin, and it heals the HP of allies by 13.2 percent. The most significant benefit of this spell is surprisingly an AoE heal. So, you can recover your entire lineup by 13.2 percent theoretically; however, it is based on chance. Nevertheless, all three of these abilities turn Popo into quite a good mercenary in your draft.
Evelyn is another Union Mercenary that is quite powerful as she deals with the Bleed status effect in almost all her attacks. A target under Bleed Status receives continuous damage by 20% of the casters attack every turn.
Her first ability applies a bleed effect while also dealing 100% of her attack damage. Keep in mind that there is only a 50% chance of the bleed effect being applied, but it still makes her quite viable in most compositions.
Sleep is another status effect Evelyn can inflict on enemy mercenaries. The sleep effect stops targets from being able to gain a turn. However, if they are attacked, the target is released from their slumber immediately. Her second ability, Sleep Bullet, deals 130% of her ATK damage while also giving her a chance to inflict an enemy's sleep effect for two turns with a 50% chance.
Her third ability has her change her posture. The ability deals 78% of the ATK damage she currently has to the enemy. The ability is generally used to finish an enemy off nearby after your team bombards them with damage.
Tala is a Ranger class that belongs to the Union group of Mercenaries. Her first ability is a spear throw that deals 120% DMG to the enemy based on her ATK stat.
The further distance of the spear, the higher the damage will be. If you have an exclusive equipment buff on her, she also deals 50% DMG at the back of the target where the spear is thrown. She can deal a lot of damage with an immovable effect on the opponent.
Her second ability, Hunter's Flag, lets her increase the allies' crit rate near the flag for three turns straight. It is a massive buff to your team and is quite useful when dealing with enemies who have many heals on them as the enormous amount of nuke damage will probably be all you need to deal with an annoying character.
Her third ability, Wild Hunter, also gives her an immovable effect for two turns while also dealing 75% of the ATK 3 times for two turns straight. This is arguably her best move, making her deal one of the highest DPS figures in the game, especially compared to other Rangers.
Chapman belongs to the Union of Mercenaries and is a Dealer in terms of his class. He is designed to deal with a fantastic amount of damage against enemies. His first ability, Chain Slash, has him inflict damage to the enemy by 23% of his attack five times in 1 turn, which is a massive amount of tick damage.
His second ability increases his rage bar while also dealing 98% of his ATK damage per turn. The rage bar is used in the consecutive skills that give him an extra perk over other mercenaries.
His third ability puts a bleed effect on the enemy, depending on how much of the rage bar he has. He deals 87% of ATK and has a 7% chance to bleed the enemy when hitting them with this skill.
Examina is a Harz Ranger that is known for her anti-tank DPS abilities. She is excellent at taking down heroes with a lot of armor as most of her abilities penetrate through that armor. Her first ability, known as Load Revolver, has a chance to stun the enemy while also dealing PEN dmg when she reaches three insight bars (once every three turns).
Her second ability is called Ghost of the Grim Reaper. This ability also provides the mercenary with insight and lets you create a ghost and inflict damage to the enemy. This skill is great when you feel like you might be targeted next turn as it is an escape.
Her third ability Hide Shot quite a simple ability that also has her gain one insight while also dealing about 17% of total ATK damage as penetration to the enemy.
Heroes War: Counterattack is a turn-based RPG based on you knowing your mercenaries well. While every mercenary has a place in a draft, the characters mentioned above usually are much stronger than the average chance a new or even an experienced player might make.
These heroes are thoughtfully picked to be relatively easy to play and understand, and most of them are attainable for free, with no pay to play purchase necessary.
However, keep in mind that the final choice in selecting what hero to play should always be yours as all these mercenaries are built for a particular purpose, which you should be aware of before selecting them in your final composition.
