1. The chapter on the virtues of the month of Ramadan
Yahya bin Ayyub, Qutaibah, and Ibn Hujr have told us. They said: Isma'il bin Ja'far told us, from Abu Suhail, from his father, from Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu 'anhu; That the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "When the month of Ramadan has come, the gates of heaven are opened, the gates of hell are closed, and the devils are shackled."
Harmalah bin Yahya has told me: Ibn Wahb reported to us: Yunus reported to me, from Ibn Shihab, from Ibn Abu Anas; That his father told him: That he heard Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu 'anhu say: Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "When in the month of Ramadan, the doors of mercy are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained."
Muhammad bin Hatim and Al-Hulwani have told me, both said: Ya'qub told us: My father told us, from Salih, from Ibn Shihab: Nafi' bin Abu Anas told me; That his father told him; That he heard Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu 'anhu say: Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "When the month of Ramadan enters" such as the hadith.
2. It is obligatory to fast during Ramadan because you see the new moon and break your fast because you see the new moon and if clouds cover it at the beginning or end of the fast, then the month count will be completed to thirty days
Yahya bin Yahya had told us, he said: I read in the presence of Malik, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar radhiyallahu 'anhuma, from the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam; That he explained Ramadan, then he said, "Don't fast until you see the new moon, and don't break your fast (break when the month of Shawwal starts) until you see it, and if you are blocked by a cloud, then count it."
Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah has told us: Abu Usamah told us: 'Ubaidullah told us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar radhiyallahu 'anhuma, that Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam mentioned Ramadan and then he moved his hands while said, “The month is like this and this and this – then he bends his thumb the third time –. So fast because you see the new moon and break your fast because you see it. And if it is covered by a cloud then count thirty days.”
Ibn Numair has told us: My father told us: 'Ubaidullah told us, with this sanad. He said, "And if it is covered by a cloud, then count thirty." like the hadith of Abu Usamah.
